Very impressed by the size of our room, in which they had set up a cot in for our baby. Used to hotel rooms being very small but this was plenty of space. It also had a big rug and was relatively baby proof. Perfect for our 9 months old, there was very little she could hurt herself on. Breakfast was really good. Didn’t stay long enough to use the pool.

Excellent location, clean, good breakfast selection and the friendliest and very professional front desk staff, especially, Sylvia, who checked us in, provided information about the hotel and the area and came running outside to help with our luggage… the hotel has about 7-8 steps to enter.

FAQs about hotels in Olbia

The Simplicity of the Emerald Coast

Olbia is all about the sea, and what a glorious turquoise sea it is. As the gateway to Sardinia’s stunning Emerald Coast, this down-to-earth town is often overlooked in favour of the more glamorous resorts. However, it does have attractions of its own.

The simple Basilica of San Simplicio dates to the 11th century and the Church of St Paul the Apostle is also medieval. The National Archaeology Museum houses Roman ships, as well as prehistoric artefacts from the surrounding area.

Sardinia has a wealth of prehistoric structures and one of these – the Tomba dei Giganti Su Monte‘e S’Abe – is near Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport and medieval Pedres Castle. Across the bay is Sa Testa Sacred Well, dating to at least 1200 BC.

Along the coast in Pittulongu are the real attractions – fantastic, unspoilt beaches from where you can see rocky Tavolara Island, a popular diving site. In summer, boats sail there from Isola Bianca Harbour, the arrival point of ferries from the Italian mainland. The harbour’s fishing boats are responsible for the fantastic mussels in Olbia’s seafood restaurants, some of which are amid bars and shops on Corso Umberto – the locals’ favourite passeggiata spot.

The Olbia accommodation on Booking.com includes luxury spa hotels, apartments near the beach and cheap B&Bs.

Loved the town, plenty of amenities, you can pay pretty much everything with your phone (not like many other cities in europe still stuck with coins or cash) A lot of great beaches nearby, with parking, showers, restrooms, and other amenities. my favorites were: Spiaggia di Cala Sabina, Spiaggia di Rena Bianca, Spiaggia La Cinta A private boat tour from Palau was worth it as well! Never managed to reserve for Cala Brandinchi or Spiaggia di Lu Impostu, it was sold out in minutes.

Olbia is a busy port city.

Olbia is a busy port city. There are not many obvious attractions for the tourist in the city itself but there are plenty of restaurants and a good choice of places to stay. Olbia has an international airport and is a good base for tourism in northern Sardinia. When cruise ships are in the harbour, local facilities are stretched and it is nearly impossible to find a taxi.

1.Sardinia is one of the world's few Blue Zones! 2.Till Delta started its thrice weekly roundtrip nonstop from JFK to Olbia, getting to Sardinia was complicated by transit stops. It is now easier to visit Sardinia from North America. 3.The local people.. highly educated (most teenagers and young people speak English as also other European languages) and healthy are very welcoming to tourists and visitors. 4.The local bus service is inexpensive and excellent..very reliable. For 10 Euros one acn buy 12 bus tickets good for 3 hours once validated on the bus. Purchasing a ticket on the bus is more expensaive Euro 1.50 per ticket versus under Euro 1 if Purchaed at any TABBACHI (TABACCO STORE) in advance. 5.The beaches are amongst the best in the world and not overly developed as yet with shops and restaurants and hustlers. 6. Good restaurants with good food at all price levels. 7. Even though our May visit was pre season..the weather was pleasant, the picturesque cobbled stone streets in the Olbia cith center were crowded with very friendly folk mostly European and locals out for an evening. During summer- Mid June - mid Sep there are musical evenings free in differents areas of the squares. 8. Any Tourist seeking an water associated vacation with good food, easy local transportation and friendly locals.. Olbia is the place to visit. It is filled with local charm and a very clear air to braethe in. Olbia is also surrounded by picturesque Hilly countryside..that we did not explore this visit.. but certainly strongly beckons us for a return visit..soon!!!

Overall, we really enjoyed Olbia!

Overall, we really enjoyed Olbia! It’s a small, cozy town with a very convenient bus system that makes getting around super easy. There are plenty of great cafes and restaurants to choose from. While there aren't many historical sights, that's expected given the town's size. Olbia is definitely more about beach life and coastal relaxation. Cons: It can be a bit challenging to organize activities for children as there aren't many places to go with them. We mostly spent our time walking along the promenade (which has some activity zones), visiting the local playground, and enjoying delicious gelato. Aside from that, options for kids are quite limited. A lovely place for a vacation, just keep the kids' entertainment in mind!

Lovely small city with Corso Umberto being where we spent some time shopping and having coffee and croissant breakfast. We walked around to nearby park, which was nice, but unfortunately the children's park was under repairs and closed off. Also the Archeological museum was also closed for renovations. Hopefully, these will be opening soon for the season. We visited in May, so did manage our expectations. The beaches at nearby Pittulongu were lovely and we stayed there for a few days.

As a visitor attraction Olbia has a limited number of things...

As a visitor attraction Olbia has a limited number of things of interest to see (Church, Market, Pedestrian Shopping Street, Marina, Necropolis and Archaeological Museum). Although the central downtown area is pleasant with plenty of places to eat and drink, the Market is only open Tuesday, the Necropolis is not open Tuesday and the Museum seems permanently shut at the moment. The Marina is quite a walk from the downtown area. Three hours was long enough for us.

A modern, stylishly decorated, spacious, and well-equipped apartment, with even more amenities than one might expect, including beach equipment and extra blankets. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful, giving us a warm reception upon arrival. Convenient parking is available right outside the property. The location is excellent, close to supermarkets and within easy reach of Olbia’s city center and main pedestrian area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely choose this accommodation again. Highly recommended!!!

Conveniently located apartment in close proximity to the luxurious marina and the city center of Olbia. A very good starting point for trips to the west and east of Sardinia. Apartment clean, spacious, with a terrace ideal for a sunny breakfast. Fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning and safe area. A huge plus is the equipment - iron, board, kitchen, blender, and even an umbrella and beach mats. Contact with the manager exemplary. I highly recommend, great time spent!

We had a wonderful stay at this guest house in Olbia. The hospitality and kindness of the hosts were exceptional from the moment we arrived. They were always available, welcoming, and happy to help with anything we needed. There is a lot of free parking on the street. The room was spacious, spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped, making our stay very relaxing. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sardinia.
