It was a great pleasure to stay in La Chiocciola. Our kids called Brunella (the owner) the grandmom. She and her husband were very nice and welcoming. Even if we didn't speak the same language we felt ourself home. The room was very clean and comfortable. We were traveling in hot August and the conditioner in the room was a great help to survive the hot! Beautiful garden to relax, delicious breakfast with homemade pastries. Our kids were in love with the cats. We really loved the location: it's in a nice and quite small village, walking distance to restaurants, short drive to Terme di Saturnia, not far from fantastically beautiful Pitigliano, and not far from Etruscan Necropolises.

The room was large, even by European standards. We had room to move and not bump into walls and furniture. There is a restaurant next door that has a truly traditional Italian dinner which was delicious and fascinating to see and eat. The hosts are incredibly kind and accommodating. We do not speak Italian but we did not feel remotely misunderstood or unable to communicate; they were charming and very friendly. The breakfast was amazing. I wish that we had been able to try the omelette that was offered but we filled up on the pastry, fruit, salami, cheese, and yogurt so were too stuffed for more. And as a person with food allergies I loved being able to eat all that was offered. A truly exceptional stay and would choose again in a heartbeat.
