Extraordinarily located small town that commands routes to high passes at Timmelsjoch (2600 metres into Austria) as well as Jaufen (2000 metres towards Sterzibg and Innsbruck to Bolzano motorway. Meran to the south is a glorious Italianate city with exceptional shopping and famous thermal bath ..
In addition St.Leonard is regional centre for numerous picturesque villages sitting high on mountainsides allowing infinite well signed walking routes from moderate to alpine scrambling.
There is a wide variety of accommodation, several restaurants and cafes as well as two super ice cream destinations . Local events include regular summer entertainment with music, crafts and food stalls in addition to a superb sports centre and huge open air life guarded pool.
Wide range of facilities include two central supermarkets, two banks, high quality specislist shops including sports retailers and even a traditional shoe maker!

In this area, there aren’t too many hotels where you can have both breakfast and dinner. We stayed for one night and were satisfied — everything was available and clean, although the rooms might seem a little dated. Breakfast was good with a wide selection, and the hosts were very friendly.

Really lovely family run hotel. The owners and staff cannot do enough for you. Helping with dog sitters and a romantic evening or the rooftop, in the whirlpool. The breakfast buffet and home made omelette station was great. Evening meal was fantastic and authentic of the area. Rooms are bright and spacious and super clean. Beds really comfy. Pool areas great and fantastic adults and kids seperated. Fantasic location especially if you have a dog. Walks directly from hotel.

A really nice hotel, set at the foot of the mountains, the inside conversion of the rooms was a real surprise. Beautiful finished in wood, with a big double bed and a bathtub in the room. Great room to relax. We had a set dinner included in the price and the food was truly surprisingly good. Followed by a great breakfast it was a great stay.
