The room and bathroom were clean and spacious. The balcony with a view was a plus. Buffet breakfast had a good variety of cheeses, cold cuts, fruits, croissants. Service at the table was very good for coffee, cappuccino. We liked the small wastebasket at the table. Hôtel is close to restaurants, shops, bus and train station.

FAQs about hotels in Sanremo

Riviera Resort for High Rollers

Covering gentle hills overlooked by higher peaks, Sanremo is a sophisticated Italian Riviera town with a glamorous casino. Built in 1905, this Liberty-style building hosts rounds of the Italian and European Poker Tours.

Down the road are the colourful minarets of San Basilio Russian Orthodox Church, while in the opposite direction is the Ariston Theatre, home of the Sanremo Music Festival – Italy’s biggest musical contest.

Nearby Piazza Colombo is a large square enlivened with vibrant flowers. Sanremo (or San Remo) is known as the City of Flowers and has the Mediterranean’s most important flower market. The surrounding area also produces olive oil, and fine examples can be purchased in shops of hillside La Pigna, the medieval part of town accessible only by stone steps.

Atop the hill, the Regina Elena Gardens provide lovely views down to the sandy beach and yacht-lined marina. Whale watching and diving trips depart from the harbour, and a few streets away is Villa Nobel, where Alfred Nobel died. A cycle path runs nearby and continues along the Ligurian coast all the way to Genoa, following the route of the old train tracks.

The modern tracks are underground and the train station is surrounded by the Sanremo accommodation on Booking.com, ranging from cheap apartments and guest houses to 5-star hotels.

What Guests Said About Sanremo:

We loved Sanremo.

We loved Sanremo. We were situated in the town centre which has great access to the marina, beach, bars, restaurants and shops. It had a lovely easy charm about it. We ate lovely seafood every day and enjoyed fresh focaccia and on the go pizza through the day. All so affordable! The sea was warm and there were places to snorkel and see an array of fish. It felt very safe. Saturday market was great with loads of fan bargains on summer dresses and linen wear. Try the Old Raileay cycle path. We used e-bikes and saw the whole coast. Was so good and easy to navigate gate. I’d definitely recommend Sanremo to couples or families.

By far I think it is one of the most beautiful cities, I've visited. I loved the architecture, the flowers, the fact that it provides easy access for wheelchair dependent people. And yes the flowers, the cacti, the palm trees, its kind, friendly and helpful people, the coffee and the food. And the old town is some magical place. I felt like I was living in a beautiful postcard.

Beautiful traditional Italian seaside town with plenty of interesting things to visit. La Pigna (the old town) is an interesting climb through small alleyways and gates. The Russian Orthodox church is small but perfectly formed. Villa Nobel is an interesting science museum & a beautiful villa to see from the outside. There is a 30km cycle and walking track running along the seafront, an old converted train track with plenty of cycle hire places along the way. Plenty of nice places nearby if you have a hire car. Steer clear of the Casino - it's tacky and full of slot machines.

Sanremo city itself is very disappointing.

Sanremo city itself is very disappointing. Streets and sea promenade are very dirty, stinky and overcrowded, sea is green, polluted, swimming caused allergies on my skin. The air in the city is extremely polluted as well: a lot of bikes and cars, very stressful. Food in the restaurants is not tasty, average, in some of them it is impossible to eat at all. I don't recommend to visit Sanremo to anyone, because it is waste of money, spoiled vacation, for a crazy big price.

The hotel was a lovely family style hotel within walking distance of the railway station and on the main waterfront road. The room was clean and comfy with facilities being acceptable. Breakfast was very good. The staff/owners were friendly and the location to the rest of the San remo waterfront verty good. I actually stayed a second night as the hotel was inviting.

Unique, comfortable, quiet villa above San Remo. The Apartmento Mare is perfect for a couple; we loved our breakfast on the terrace and a late night drink on the balcony. Nice quiet "countryside "location 5 minutes from San Remo by car. We were a bit worried about noise as it is pretty close to the highway, but we didn't hear anything.
