Owned and run by two women who really make you feel welcome. I had messed up the date on our reservation and they realized it immediately and accommodated the change. There is an in-house restaurant and bar service that is exceptional! The food is delicious and served on the veranda in the back of the hotel, surrounded by greenery. Everything is within walking distance, the lake is 2 minutes away and there is a long boardwalk, not sure how long it actually is because after 2 hours walking I was exhausted :D

We loved the location and the view from our balcony. The room was clean, and breakfast was good. The guy named Elton provided us with the best service! He was so kind and sociable, and made us feel very comfortable. We would definitely come back to this hotel again!

The hotel is on the perfect location, small hotel beach is great for kids and not crowded. Breakfast was nice, room and balcony were completely fine for out 5 days stay. All facilities are clean and nice. Staff is very friendly and polite. All in all it was a great vacation.

This is a relatively small resort with limited things to do.

This is a relatively small resort with limited things to do. It’s perfect for anyone wanting a good relaxing holiday. It is very dog friendly and seeing them play on the water was a treat. At the beach there was a great coffee bar (beware-cash only) a short walk from Antico Monastero hotel.

The hotel has very old facilities with maintenance issues.

The hotel has very old facilities with maintenance issues. The bunk bed for my daughters was not safe, so they had to sleep in the same bed because the bunk bed was made of iron and did not feel secure. The toilet had water leaking continuously. The dining tables had dirty tablecloths, and at the bar we had to wait for someone to show up to serve us.

Location was good, not too big but enough going on. Access to lake / beaches good, enough restaurants etc. We found a pizzeria just in the town which was lovely food, lovely roof terrace and away from the tourist restaurants by the lake. (Restaurante Pizzería Gatto Giallo) We didn’t have a car, so was reliant on ferries and buses, which meant some early starts, some long journey times and careful planning. Fast ferries need prebooking. Taxis from train station very expensive - so if you arrive to area by train pre-book a transfer!

Mostly unspoilt by tourism compared to other lakeside towns. Well connected by the ferries and buses and plenty of places to eat and or drink. An old papermill to visit and pleasant alleyways to explore. There is also a bit of entertainment if you hunt around including a jazz night and a 5k run when we were there.

Maderno is an excellent base with good ferry connections across and round the lake; both as a walk on passenger and with the car. The town is not too "touristy", there is not a great deal to do beyond wandering and sitting by the lakeside. It is well served with supermarkets for self catering. We used the town mainly as a starting point to go elsewhere.

Beautiful and cozy village with couple of quality...

Beautiful and cozy village with couple of quality restaurants, everything within walking distance. There is ferry line connection so you can easily travel around Garda. So far one of best bakeries on our Italian trip Carlo Pasticceria.

The Hotel was spotless and very spacious. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We had both the continental and the cooked breakfasts during our stay, which both kept us going until our dinner. Rooms were cool in the heat we didn't have fans or aircon. Both rooms were quiet at night and to open windows on to small balconies was perfect each morning.

It's fine. Not great, not terrible. I think it is a solid hotel, which has what you seek. It has nice gardens, nice pathwalk on the lake-side. It is quite and has a real feeling you're in Italian old monastery. Feeling is good. Solid 7. Garden on the balcony was very lovely and very well maintained.
