Kizen Villa was an incredibly pleasant stay. My friend and I booked a room last minute and were surprised with how much we loved this place. We will definitely try to book here the next time we are in Tokyo. The whole unit was very spacious. The problem with most places in Tokyo is all accommodations are very tight in space; you can't even open up your luggage full in most places/hotels. But not here. The bedroom fit 2 queen/full sized beds with plenty of room to open up your luggage. The traditional Japanese family room, living area and dining space were just as open. Everything is also very clean and the building is very quiet. Quiet hours are between 10pm and 10 am. So it's a great place if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The building is connected to a cute little cafe called Kizen Cafe, so it's kind of like a bed and breakfast vibe. You do have to make a reservation to eat at the cafe however. The owner and staff are really friendly and very helpful, and I recommend going down to the cafe and sitting there with a cup of tea. As far as transportation, there's a metro station a short walk away and Nakano Broadway is one stop away. If you do end up taking an Uber or taxi, do not have them drive into the alley up to the inn. The street is very narrow. Just have them drop you off in front of Family Mart on the main street, the inn is barely a two minute walk from there.

There are a lot of eating places, lots of shoppping, lots of...

There are a lot of eating places, lots of shoppping, lots of groceries if you decide to eat at home, beautiful park and zoo, great train line connections. There is also a Yamato Transport branch in Kichijoji which is a great help in sending luggage on to the airport.

Kichijoji is a great area in the western suburbs of Tokyo.

Kichijoji is a great area in the western suburbs of Tokyo. We explored the beautiful Inokashira Park and other points further west such as Chofu and Koganei. We ate at a great izakaya that specialises in squid called Totomaro. There's plenty of shopping, including Don Quijote and Yuzawaya. Kichijoji is on the Chuo line which connects with Shinjuku and Tokyo stations. It's also really well serviced with buses.
