Location was great. Behind a small alley, but it is just a 2mins walk to Sunroad Shinshigai which is an old fashioned shopping street with plenty of food and shops. Kumamoto Castle is not that far off too, around 20mins walk I think. Room and facilities were great too. Strong hot water from the taps/shower, and a nice range of food at breakfast.

The arrangement of the shower room with a separate toilet and vanity basin outside of the shower. This worked really well for two people getting ready in the morning. There was plenty of storage space for clothes. The room was big. The public baths area was beautiful and the baths were relaxing. We enjoyed the friendliness of the staff who were happy to help at all times.

We love how convenient it was for location that you can just walk down the hotel to get everything you need and transportation was just outside the hotel. The best part is the Aircon system was working even during winter.

There was nothing that we didn't like. We enjoyed everything. Great staff, location, and hotel. Location is perfect and easy to get to from the airport. It is also very close to Kumamoto Castle. My wife and I really loved our room and the morning breakfast buffet was fantastic. The staff was also very helpful and friendly. We visited during our anniversary and they upgraded our room with one of the best views of Kumamoto Castle.

Best mid range hotel I have ever stayed in. Instead of the gimmicks other hotels in the market use, this hotel focuses on the room and service. Room was super well equipped and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Kumamoto has a relaxed and laid back feel with lots to see and do. We enjoyed walks along the river and went as far south as Lake Ezuko. The tram was inexpensive and very easy to negotiate. Kumamoto is also a convenient home base for visiting areas outside of the city.

I didn't expect much from Kumamoto on my first visit, but I was surprised to find it a lively, vibrant city with multicultural influences, and trendy neighborhoods packed with boutiques and restaurants that rival anything that Tokyo offers without the suffocating crowds. The castle is an obvious draw and was busy, though not too crowded when we visited in early April, with tourists from many countries in evidence. Make time to head across the street from the castle to Kumamoto City Hall and go up to the free viewing lobby on the 14th floor for a great view of the castle grounds. Then get out and wander. My family and I were impressed by the lively shotengai and the interesting mix of boutiques, bars and restaurants sprawling across downtown Kumamoto. We've all lived in Tokyo and thought that Kumamoto's downtown neighborhoods seem on par with those in Tokyo's Nakameguro, Jiyugaoka, and the like. Wish that we'd scheduled more time here and less in Kagoshima.

Kumamoto is a bit of a sleepy town in Kyushu, the castle was severely damaged in the 2016 earthquake and is now a mediocre experience, Suizenji gardens are small but beautiful, but one day in the city is enough in my opinion.

I was in Kumamoto for 2 day 2 night. I think this should be a 3 day 3 day to be enough to see more of it. Kumamoto is really a cozy town, and has everything you need. Kumamoto castle is currently under reconstruction and restoration from the earthquake in 2016. The full completion is going to be years from now, but now I have another reason to come back again!

A few things to get more people traveling to Kumamoto: 1. Best looking castle I've seen in Japan so far! 2. Fans of Miyamoto Musashi should know that he wrote the Book of Five RIngs in a cave to the West of the city, and is buried in a cemetery on the outskirts of the city to the North. 3. Fans of the anime "One Piece" will have a blast hunting down all 10 statues of characters from the show. They are placed all around the province, and you might need a rental car to see all of them! I only got to see Luffy and Chopper before running out of time...

I came for the One Piece statues but I honestly loved the entire vibe of Kumamoto. The transit system was easier to navigate than I expected, and locals were very nice in offering to take pictures of us at the statues! I was also really impressed with the Kumamoto revival project details and how they specifically placed the crew members in places that needed aid but were relevant to the character. As we traveled to each statue, I was amazed at how gorgeous Kumamoto was, like a scene out of a Studio Ghibli movie. It was magical and I wished I had planned to stay longer since I couldn't see all the statues.

Kumamoto hotel is a beautiful stay. It's very central and getting around is very easy. My wife and I stayed just the night but I wish it had been longer. We chose the castle view room and it was worth it. It was so pretty that we slept with the curtains open. The staff were more than welcoming! The room was beautiful and spacious!
