The house is completely renovated, all facilities are top notch, the futons are very comfortable. In addition the house still retains his old flair. If you want to relax after a day of hiking or visiting Temples around Nikko, but don't like the busy Hotels or Ryokans in the area, this house is a really good alternative. Cooking for yourself is highly recommended, though a convenience store is about 6-7 minutes drive away. The Kitchen is well equipped, you won't miss any items for quick meals. 30 seconds from the house there is a vending cafe where you can get snacks and drinks 24 hours a day. The staff is very friendly, explaining everything needed in very polite way and making sure every need from the customer is satisfied. We really enjoyed our shot stay and would definitely come back again if we were to stay in the area around Nikko. Though you must consider that Nikko Temples are 25-30 minutes away by car, lake chuzenji is 40-45 minutes away, so you need to plan accordingly. But you will get rewarded with a very comfy and modern house that you can come back to after long days to relax and get ready for the next day.

This place is amazing -- luxurious yet comfortable. The staff was wonderful. Our room was perfect, as was the ensuite onsen bath, and the food was delicious. We loved our time at Fufu Nikko!

This is perfect for solo travellers. There is an onsen that is included in your stay. Make sure to check the hours that the bathroom and onsen are open in the book that is in your room. 100-yen coin lockers are available that can fit a carry-on-sized luggage well. Hot drinking water is available, and it is right across the street from a convenience store. Less than a 5-minute walk from the station. I highly recommend.
