Our stay at Fairfield by Marriott was incredible. The hotel was lovely, and our room was beautiful and so comfy. We booked for 2 nights but decided to extend for 1 more as it was in the perfect area for places we planned to visit, and again, it was just so comfy. The staff were so friendly, especially Enomoto, who helped us and was very kind. We would definitely stay here again the next time we’re in Mie!

Cosy traditional Japanese style decor with all you need kitchen and bathroom amenities, good WiFi and comfortable futons. It was a very pleasant stay and I would highly recommend if you're looking for a traditional Japanese home experience and want to explore nature off the beaten touristy paths.

This was a truly memorable and awesome stay for us in Kumano. We were kindly welcomed in a house filled with figurines, games and toys from the early 2000s. The host was extremely kind and even helped us set up a projector to watch a movie! One of the most unique stays we’ve experienced in Japan so far! There’s also an incredible restaurant nearby called 食堂 あお where the owner speak English and we got to taste the best fish we’ve ever had! Overall highly recommend!!

Location was perfect, 3 min walking to the train station and short walk as well to convenience stores and gas station. Our host helped us renting a car since we don’t speak japanese. Always responsive and caring. We would definitely stay there again!

We loved our stay here ! the decor was so beautiful and the place was very clean. The house was also very spacious and felt homely. Would definitely stay here again it is very good value for money.

I didn’t know anything about Mihama until I stayed with...

I didn’t know anything about Mihama until I stayed with Kaoru. She changed everything for me and went out of her way to ensure I had everything I needed and more. I learned about the region including the Kumano Kodo and sacred sites. The accommodation is spotless and new. I am the first review because she only recently began to list her accommodation. I am honored to leave the first review because she is truly a rare gem and exemplifies the very best of Japan! I will stay here every time I visit Japan. Side note, I don’t leave reviews except this one. Kaoru is that special and her accommodation is beyond all imagination. You won’t want to leave! I was a solo traveler and it was super easy to get around I eat at Kaoru’s favorite sushi restaurant. I travelled to the rice terraces, the gorge, shrines, temples, part of the Kumano Kodo trails, onsens and so much more.
