The place is very cozy and clean, the food is very delicious and there is a lot of variety of dishes in each emeal. The cost is also very affordable. The staff are very accommodating and nice. This place is highly recommended for those who wanted to relax and enjoy the winter.They have a shuttle bus coming from the train station. And have onsite free parking. Will definitely come again.

Kutsurogian was an outstanding location with a wonderful building and amazing views from the rooms. Most of all, the staff were excellent. They made our stay both relaxing and fun, and went above and beyond at every opportunity to help us get out and about during the day, along with providing pick up and drop off from the Shinkansen stations. The meals were magnificent. Breakfast and dinner were large meals with top-quality ingredients, and wonderful service. The dining rooms offer western or japanese seating, and there is even an irori (traditional hearth), which was a real treat. The onsen has two spaces, offering indoor and outdoor baths in both, and allow reservation by room in the evening so you can bathe with your partner. I cannot imagine how nice it will be when snowing. We were looking for a quiet weekend away from Tokyo, and chose Minamiuonuma in Niigata prefecture as somewhere new to visit. It was not a busy time of year as snow season had not yet started. The local Hakkeisan brewery district and Koji factory were fun things to visit, and there is plenty more within a day trip. I recommend that you ideally have a hire car to explore, but it is not essential, as the staff helped us out with drop off and pickup during the day. An unforgettable 3 nights at a magical place.

Even the other guests were very friendly and relaxed The fact that they even hung a placard outside my room with my name on shows their attentiveness Neighborhood is quiet, very few tourists. We chose Futago Cabin for the proximity to some ski resorts we wanted to visit in this New Year Holiday and we are SO happy we chose this wonderful place. The staff was fantastic, extremely kind and helpful, the price we paid was unbeatable, the view from anywhere was breathtaking and it felt like being in a real cabin in the mountains. The kitchen was equipped with everything one needs for a holiday to prepare meals, guests can use the refrigerator to put food and drinks inside, and there are supermarkets (Harimaya or Nattus) quite close to the hotel which sell ready to eat meals, and that's what we did for the 4 nights 5 days we spent there. Coffee and tea are provided free of charge, one just can make them by using the hot water electric kettle in the dining room. The mattresses in our room were VERY comfortable and even though it is an older building, we didn't hear other guests talking in their rooms from our room, it was always nice and quiet. Fuel for the room heater costs 600 yen per day, one has just to bring the tank down and the friendly owner will fill it up immediately. Our room was always nice and warm. The bathroom is clean and it was located quite close to the room, separated for men and ladies. We were VERY happy to have found Futago Cabin, and we are going back on March :) HIGHLY Recommended for those looking for a cabin in the mountains style of stay!
