The service from staff was atrocious - we waited 40 minutes in Reception to be assigned a room after checking in at 4pm. Rooms were supposed to be ready by 1pm. Pool service was incredible slow and frustrating - once food eventually arrives it is cold and there was no cutlery provided (another 10-minute wait and even colder food). The spa was the same - waited 40 minutes for staff to show up for a pre-booked appointment. The Wi-Fi was really unreliable - constantly dropping out or unavailable for hours on end.

I'd definitely recommend two nights in Naivasha to visit Hell's Gate park and go on the boat tour on Lake Naivasha. It is a nice escape from the chaos of the big city and offers a quiet getaway. My favourite things to do in Naivasha were bike riding and rock climbing in Hell's Gate. You can also go to Lake Nakuru from here. It is around 65 km from here (1 hour drive).

The main attraction of Naivasha is the lake, especially for naturalists and bird watchers. It is possible to drive all the way round the lake these days . ( The road is improved compared to past years), it can be done in a normal saloon car, but is rough in sections.

The location of the hotel was excellent, I loved the fact that animals could walk freely around the premise, we got to view in close proximity the zebras, hippos, monkeys, defassa waterbucks and a variety of bird watching. The view of the lake from the rooms was excellent. The rooms were a bit outdated, room service was good. The food buffet was excellent , more options to be availed for breakfast, for lunch and dinner buffet they should include the option of at least one soft drink. The pool was great. Customer service was excellent

The government needs to work on the Karagita lake asccess it felt very insecure especially having my two toddlers and grandparents, it was chaotic the county government needs to take charge of the public lake access, the are is uncontrollable with young men using bhang, not a safe area

In town...there was a sign: chips available.

In town...there was a sign: chips available. I walked in to ask for trips and received no help. My husband asked his waitress next door to assist in getting chips for the kids. She also did not or could not assist. Perhaps there are more tourist-friendly areas that I did not see as I scout for homeland there. We ate at kienyeji chicken place off the majn road through town..it was 500 for the 2 piece with broth, ugali, and greens. We went to Naivas, in town, and it seemed they need to expand because there was more in there than they could handle. Had to get chips and chicken from there...

Mikes place is an excellent option for staying in Naivasha. He’s thought of everything, there’s water, soap, towels, tea. The beds are large and super comfy, the best I’ve found in Kenya! Mike was really responsive by text and the building staff make sure you and your vehicle are safe. We loved our stay and would happily come again

Everything and everyone what a fantastic place Alice and kezia cook the best food ever in Kenya (25yrs experience) and provided such a personal touch in their welcome and whilst there. The owner Chris and his wife were really welcoming too. Only booked for 2 nights but wish we could have stayed longer.
