We were quite concerned on the way there because the trip was through some interesting but desolate terrain. What a great surprise. The property is beautiful and the staff and service were superb. The food was good too.

Kalkudah is one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka!

Kalkudah is one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka! The water here has an amazing emerald colour and it is very clean, transparent. It is a very long and beautiful sandy beach with a free natural spirit, with hardly anyone around. We enjoyed swimming almost all the day! No tourist attractions but some restaurants like Laya Waves are and Swiss Cafe on the shore are the options. Kalkudah works fine for yoga, meditation, walking along, etc. There are some cows and their manure in some spots, but it is better than plastic garbage. Some days the waves were bigger than Passikuda, but no corals on Kalkudah. Comparing to Passikuda we liked Kalkudah much better. Passikuda is over crowded with a long chain of luxury hotels and is not as beautiful. Anyway if anyone is coming with children Passikuda has shallow waters, as well as some tourists attractions. In any case, on Kalkudah one can dig a hole in the sand for children, where the ocean water will come, while making the natural baths that way.

The room was big, spacious, bright and very clean! Everything seemed to be quite new and in excellent shape. Krish is a lovely women, who cooked us incredible prawns for dinner and great Sri Lankan breakfast. The hotel is only 1 minute away from the beach, which is very convenient if you want to spend your days at the beach. I can definitely recommend this place!

Great location in 3 minutes from the beach, you can hear waves from your room(but quietly). There are chairs and hammock near room, quite atmosphere. Air conditioner, teapot inside. In 5 minuts there is a little supermarket
