I only stayed one night at this property but it is a beautiful property with great service. It’s first class all the way. Modern rooms, great staff, amazing views and close to safaris and other activities that one may be interested in. You’ll definitely get your money’s worth at the Lavendish Wild Safari!

This place is amazing! You can see how much love Errol has put into this place and the love he and the staff have for nature. We enjoyed 2 nights at the property and were treated like family right away. We did a safari in the afternoon to Wasgamuwa and saw a big family of elephants. Errol also knows how to cook and made us some delicious vegan meals. Come to this place if you love animals, tranquility and learning from the staff as they are super knowledgeable! A true heaven and not your average tourist hotel! You are surrounded by scientist who also help out the local community and really contribute greatly to the villages and animal conservation! Thanks again for the amazing stay!

Lovely simple home stay made extra special with the kind host and great safari in very close by Wasgamuwa national park arranged by our host. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and visit! The host cooked delicious dinner and breakfast for us and even sourced a couple cold beer for after our safari. The value for money was excellent and it was lovely to relax outside the home stay and chat with the host who spoke excellent English . We saw 25 elephants, atleast 15 different bird species and mongoose on our safari. So happy to base ourselves at Kandyan Rest versus travelling further to do safari as we were only 10 minutes from entrance to the park.

The host and the location! Located right outside of Wasgamua National Park, we were surrounded by nature. We spent every morning birdwatching from the deck and easily record 20+ birds in one sitting. The breakfasts were HUGE and delicious, made by the host’s mom. Supun was a great host who has a good eye for wildlife. He took us on an evening half day safari and we spotted elephants, jackals, and many bird species. This safari was cheaper and better than any safari at a more popular park. We only ran into 2 other jeeps the entire trip. Supun also took us on many walks where we met other families in the village and got to experience Sri Lankan hospitality.

- a/c and fan is in the room - clean bedroom and toilet - beautiful garden and view - comfortable bed - quiet place - cute cat - you can request lunch and dinner if you like - beautiful and designed building - nearby the Potgul temple (1km away) In overall we really loved the place 10/10. Even though there wasn't wifi (recommend getting a sim card at the airport). Breakfast is simple but for the price of stay it is really good value! I can highly recommend this place!

Hotel Siyathma in Polonnaruwa proved to be an excellent choice for our recent trip. The hotel's prime location made exploring the ancient city incredibly convenient. The major viewpoints were just a short distance away, allowing us ample time to immerse ourselves in the rich history and beauty of Polonnaruwa. The hospitality extended by the hotel staff was truly commendable. They were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their warm welcome made us feel right at home. One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the delicious food served at the hotel. From breakfast to dinner, every meal was a culinary delight. The flavors were authentic and the portions were generous. It was clear that great care was taken in preparing each dish. Overall, our experience at Hotel Siyathma was exceptional. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Polonnaruwa.

I stayed at Lake Park Hotel for two nights, and it was a fantastic experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The food was excellent, and the boat ride organized by the hotel was a highlight—well worth the money! The rooms were comfortable and offered stunning views of the lake, making the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

What Guests Said About Wasgamuwa:

Amazing, smaller national park.

Amazing, smaller national park. More of a wild, intimate experience than it's massively over subscribed cousins. We were in very close contact with a family of elephants, (including baby) for at least 20 mins before another jeep arrived, and then it was only just the two vehicles.

Lovely national park, clean, quiet compared to other parks in Sri Lanka. Fairly priced entrance fee, guide joins you on the jeep, but optional to tip them. Ours was superb and pointed out many things we would have missed otherwise.
