Excellent location for budget travelers wanting to explore the heart of Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius. The hotel is a stone's throw away from the market, small shops and banks (MCB, Absa). Within walking distance to the Mauritius Post Office Headquarters, Caudant Waterfront, Postal Museum, Aapravasi Ghat, Intercontinental Slavery Museum, the US Embassy and light rail/metro. The hotel is clean, simple/minimalistic, no fluff.

The staff was polite,friendly. It was close to the town centre,only 10-15 minutes walk..

Kindly improve your breakfast variety menu, apart from that you are great

This hotel met my expectations. It’s a no frills location close to all the things to see in Port Louis. The staff was very friendly and helpful. While the rooms are a little frumpy it was nice to have access to a refrigerator. The AC worked great too. The included breakfast wasn’t anything special but it’s nice to have it as an option.

Everything is perfect ! It’s truly the BEST place to stay particularly if someone wishes to stay at it around Port Louis area. As well the owner so kind & very welcoming !

This stay was a high light of my trip and since I'm the first reviewer will give a thorough description of my experience. I stayed for 2 nights. It is a ground floor large 2 bedroom apartment in a 2 bedroom house in a residential neighborhood with the hosts residing upstairs. The house is located very close the hustle and bustle of Port Louis and since I drove getting around was very convenient. There was private parking on site. The hosts were always on hand in case something was needed and wenr above and beyond in so many ways. I have a new friend in their neice Maansi. The 2 bedroom ground floor apartment is fantastic and has all the amenities that were available at the other 2 apartments I stayed at while in Mauritius as well: washing machine, TV. There was wifi however I never connected to it to know the speeds. Additionally, it was so comfortable because there are so many options for spaces to lounge: living room, formal dining room, table in the kitchen, and front porch. The kitchen was stocked with a stove, water heater, toaster oven, toaster, rice cooker, microwave and refrigerator. It was immaculately clean. The bedrooms both had 1 large bed in them. One had a fan and the other had A/C. A note about their dogs because it will absolutely affect your stay: Snow is/was a puppy when I came and very exciteable. He barked a LOT. While this was scary when I first arrived because I do not know the dog, it turns out that he is the SWEETEST dog and wouldn't hurt a fly. He lives upstairs with the host and they were able to keep him separated whenever needed but even if he's in the yard barking when you come and go there is no need to be worried. He is very curious and wanted to get to know me but barked loudly the whole time even after we had gotten to know each other.

We enjoyed our stay at La Magdalena. The garden is beautiful, with lovely flowers as well as coconut trees on the side. The apartment is single level and stair-free, which served our needs well. And it is close to the National Hospital. We recommend that you have a car, though there are buses and taxis. Accoutrements are all fine. There are various Hindu symbols around the house and garden. Many other small items that reflect the unique taste of the owners, especially in the kitchen. The landlords/managers are very nice.

Having 2 bedrooms and 2 toilets. While the kitchen and living rooms - which were in an open floor plan - did not have an A/C unit, turning on the bedroom units and focusing an included fan allowed for cooling the entire apartment. Finally, the hosts (Krish and his father) were most gracious and accommodating starting at our arrival at the airport, transferring us to the apartment and, at the end of our stay, transferring us to the port for fees a Lipitor less than that of other private transfer services.
