The location is well situated, with walkable distance to the main restaurants and supermarket.
Catherine and Russell even made a map to help us navigate. They are amazing hosts. Very warm and welcoming.
The room studio is very spacious and well furnished. The kitchen had everything you could need, in several sets.
Very clean and well organized.
We had the mountain view room and every morning, it was refreshing to look outside. There are neighbours houses around but far enough that we still felt that it was private enough.
My husband and I had a magnificent stay. Definitely in the top 3 of our rentals in Mauritius.
Oh, and the little library outside was a very nice touch as well.

United Arab EmiratesStaying here was a different experience because the property is designed in chateau style and surrounded by tropical greenery. It's located on the hills, so the view from the balcony is really amazing. A small pond with the bridge at the entrance adds to the house ambiance. You can feel that the owners have thought through every detail in the house.
It was clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable.

Riviere Noire is a beautiful area, with good supermarkets...
Riviere Noire is a beautiful area, with good supermarkets and restaurants although some can be very expensive. La Bonne Chute Restaurant is to be avoided at all costs. Any complaint to the manager is just discarded as she was the owner. The local beach, La Preneuse, is very near, with beautiful white sand.

We liked the area close to the Riviere Noire Reserve and it was convenient for the quieter beaches on the south coast.
We recommend a guided tour of the Ebony Forest Reserve. We had a fascinating day out with a very knowledgeable guide and saw a lot of birdlife; the views out to sea are also stunning.
Be warned: driving in Mauritius is not easy, even with satnav! We got lost several times, especially around Port Louis.
If you choose to go to Port Louis, we recommend using the local bus. There is a bus stop two minutes' walk from the apartment (shortly before London Way supermarket). You can pick up a bus at about 7.30 am and return on a 119 bus at 30 minutes past the hour from Immigration Square near the waterfront of Port Louis.
If you want to eat out, the Happy Rajah restaurant on the main road serves good value Indian food. The fish thali is particularly tasty.

lovely shopping complexes, boutiques, restaurants, and supermarket if you are self catering. Great place to tour around, for a heli-copter ride in the south to see the underwater waterfall, and go to the Ebony Forest

The Riviere Noire area is quite busy and urbanised so it isn't a great location if you want to "get away from it all". However, it has some fabulous restaurants, cafes and bars along with useful shops Bed and breakfast hotel tariffs are a great option since you sample superb Mauritian cuisine away from the hotel. It is also a great location for visiting the Black River Gorge. The beach is OK but the stunning beaches at Le Morne and Flic en Flac are each a 15 minute drive away.
Bonne Chute restaurant is excellent
Also highly recommended - the cafes at Vanilla Village and Kumba

I highly recommend choosing this place for your trip to Mauritius! I am very picky when it comes to accommodation, but everything here was amazing. From the easy check-in and the cleanliness of the studio to the small details like an extra shopping bag, an umbrella, and all the necessary kitchenware and utensils for different occasions. The area around is splendid. It has security, and our stay was calm and quiet. We had the best host, Tatiana, who helped us with every inquiry. I hope to come back one day. A truly beautiful place!

I have stayed here before and the host has always been wonderful, friendly and helpful. The property is very well appointed with good quality appliances and fitted out to a high standard. It was comfortable and met my needs travelling to Mauritius for business. The location was good for me and though I had a car, if someone did not have a car, the main road with bus services is minutes away and a large supermarket is located within a few minutes walk. Although I have never visited the beach, it is also a few minutes walk away.

Whenever I go to Mauritius, I prefer the West Coast. The North is far too commercialised and the east is mostly residential and the south doesn’t have great beaches except for Bel Ombre. So this property was perfectly situated for us. It was close to a lovely beach- La Preneuse and close to a bakery and supermarket.
It was also ideal for our family - 4 bedrooms which accommodated all of us nicely without us being in each other’s faces. The living area was spacious and extended outdoors.

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The location was convenient, and the overall atmosphere was calm and relaxing. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
