The highlight for me was the balcony at the back facing the jungle. I also appreciated the screen on the patio door, the sun blocking curtains, and the fan. We did not ever use the AC. The location was perfect: a short walk to the public beach, a French bakery with sourdough baguettes nearby, and the fruit and veg store across the street. There were beach chairs provided we carried to the beach. We always found a spot shaded by palm trees. Rene and Denise were helpful and friendly. We arranged for them to take us and pick us up from a cenote and it worked out perfectly. The common kitchen/lounge was a real bonus; we prepared our own breakfasts and picnic lunches, and mixed it up with Rene and Denise, and other guets. There was hot water in the shower (Many places don't have it.). Our room was large and well-designed. Spare and efficient. We had a coffee maker and a little refrigerator. I appreciated the Mexican cotton blanket.

Right in the jungle! We heard amazing birds and the plants were spectacular . We visited two cenotes which were both amazing. The owners are super friendly and treated us like family. Roberto cooked us a delicious dinner one night. Can’t recommend this place enough

I arrived very overwhelmed at this place because the truth is I didn't pay attention when I made the reservation, I just made sure it said: Puerto Morelos. It was difficult and expensive for me to get there because I didn't rent a car or reserve transportation. Big mistake! Please make sure to schedule your transportation in advance or rent a car. As soon as I arrived my frustration disappeared, not only because of the fantastic place, but because of the attention of its owners. Nedda and Dino made me feel welcome and supported me with their attention. I left the place feeling that I owed them much more than I paid. If your thing is an eco hotel in the middle of the tropical jungle, this is your place! Marvelous! I would have liked to be able to stay more days.

The hotel staff were very friendly and supportive. We arrived earlier than the check-in time and were able to leave our luggage at the reception. There is a common kitchen for all guests, and a rooftop with chairs and a jacuzzi (though it wasn't clean during our stay). To get to the beach, we took the public bus which takes 10 minutes or so to arrive at the beach town.

This is a lovely quaint little town 15 minutes away from Cancun, it is the perfect place to stay to get a less touristy experience with loads of great options for food and drinks. The beach is beautiful and the town has an evening market in the square that is especially great from Friday through Sunday. I recommend eating at El Refugio for the best tacos and cheapest beer in town.

I love this sleepy town.

I love this sleepy town. It feels like the real Mexico compared to Playa de Carmen, where we went for a day trip and found hot, busy and way too frantic. Puerto Morelos has good restaurants and there's always something happening in the town square that you can sit and watch like one of the locals. We felt right at home from the beginning and soon had a favourite restaurant (La Sirena for best food and great live music) and a favourite restaurant for good coffee (on Javier Rojo Gomez behind the supermarket but can't remember the name). Our stay was topped off with a 2 hr snorkeling trip where I say more fish than I imagined could habitate one place!

This is a very low key relaxing place. We walked everywhere. I loved that there was a mixture of Mexicans and tourist/expats, young and old. We saw neither poverty nor (ostentatious) wealth. Very chill. Music everywhere. The snorkelling out at the nearby reef was really good.

PM is a wonderful beach/town destination.

PM is a wonderful beach/town destination. The main street is closed to traffic every evening, so one can stroll to choose from many excellent restaurants to dine on their patios. Food and service is always exceptional. The beach is still pleasant to walk in spite of the unsightly sargassum. Many people snorkel right off the beach.

We liked Puerto Morelos because it was right by the ocean...

We liked Puerto Morelos because it was right by the ocean with great seafood restaurants and the crowds were not bad. We ate at La Pepitas and Punta Corcho. Both were delicious. We also took a snorkel tour out to the reef and saw lots of sealife.

Charming small beach town with lots of restaurants and shops...

Charming small beach town with lots of restaurants and shops. Easy to walk everywhere. Lovely beaches, calm water because of the barrier reef. Friendly people - the locals welcome the tourists, and there are many expat Canadians living there which is a fun mix. Take the bus to the Pueblo/Colonial side of town to try more restaurants and see how the people of Puerto Morelos live.

If you want a full-on, all inclusive, resort hotel, then this is a good, if pricey option. We had a junior suite right on the beach, and the room and facilities couldn't have been better. The room had a huge, very comfortable bed. Good bathroom (with spa bath!), and a little kitchenette with a well stocked fridge. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our package came with a personal concierge and free airport transfers, which was very useful. There are two decent restaurants on site and 24/7 room service. Lovely beach.

Amazing little gem right in the middle of the beach side of Puerto Morelos. Loads of food in easy walking distance, only a couple blocks from the beach, grocery store, massage places, dive shops and basically everything else. Block from main square/taxi stand/collectivo pickup. Small complete apartment with full kitchen, hot shower with good pressure, A/C, and furniture. Cute little gated outdoor area as well.

Location is good, on the beach and close to town. The people working here are great, very friendly. Book your chairs the night before as they are open to public and by 11am they will be all full. Food in the restaurant is good and decent value. You can snorkel right off the beach so bring your gear or rent but it's $$.
