Alhamdullilah. Super grateful for the opportunity to stay in this cozy and comfy home. It is located about 600m away from KTM Tumpat Station. There is a restaurant called Pohon Sireh serving local menu beside the property. There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (one comes with a squatting toilet). The property can easily fit 6-7 adults. The owner was super nice by letting me check-in a couple of hours from the stated checked-in time (ie:1500hrs). There are a few provision shops nearby the property. The room has a kitchen, fridge...etc. All items in the property functioned well. Do note that there is no WiFi provided. Will definitely come back here again. Certainly deserves 5 stars.

This place had spotlessly clean rooms and bathrooms. Sheets and towels seemed new and were also very clean. The view was pretty and the staff kind and helpful. The aircon and Wifi worked well. It was quiet and restful and good value for money. I wish I had taken inside pictures-was a pleasant surprise!

A relaxing environment by the river/sea with a beautiful...

A relaxing environment by the river/sea with a beautiful community with plenty of smiles everywhere. Good place to make a day trip to Tak Bai, Thailand. Wau Museum is small, but culturally rich and children can do batik painting on the art cafe beside it. Challenges: Grab may not always get you a car. Almost everyone only speaks Malay.

What we loved was the journey in the jungle railway.

What we loved was the journey in the jungle railway. Our hotel Maena Water Chalet was pleasant. We took a boat ride on the river and saw water monitor lizard. It was hard to find good food options in Tumpat esp for a vegetarian family member. We went and saw both the sleeping Buddha and the sitting one, pretty but not amazing. The beach had some ok places but our best find was a Thai restaurant in Wakaf Bahru. Helpful to pay a taxi/van for the day. Not sure if it’s worth spending much time in Tumpat. I might have just taken the train back the same night instead of stopping there. Perhaps Wakaf Bahru has better options!
