This was a nice little hotel stop in the unusual town of Baarle. Very clean, good shower, wifi worked well, and breakfast was good and plentiful (lots of good bread, ham and cheese slices, boiled egg, yogurt, juice, & coffee). Just personal preference but beds a bit hard for me. I also knew ahead of time, but if it matters to you, rooms are up a flight of stairs (no elevator). Right in the center of town so we had easy access to busses.

The owners were extremely welcoming and hospitable. They greated us upon our arrival and immediately gave us a tour of the facilities. We found the accommodations to be very comfortable and the bed perfect for a good nights sleep. It was such a joy to watch their three horses waiting for their morning hay and grains from the kitchen window. Every morning we were greated by Elvis the cat on his rounds before he set off for the fields. The kitchen was very well equipped and we were not missing for anything. We stayed at this place to bike ride. We found the various bike routes provided by the host to be very safe and lovely traveling the Dutch countryside. The Dutch bike routes are so easy to follow that we wonder why other countries don't use the same route numbering system. The local town of Chaam is very quaint with local restaurants, bakeries and grocery stores all within a couple minute drive or bike ride. We will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it particularly if you enjoy nature. Welook forward to seeing the hosts again and hearing of life in the Netherlands and their adventures from life abroad. A big thank you to them both!

I came here twice already.

I came here twice already. First time was last year, in February, as I was curious to discover the unique border situation and since that time, this town became my favourite and my biggest passion. I came back some days ago, not anymore just to see the borders, but to live again the unique and beautiful vibes the town transmits. Here the atmosphere is so welcoming, so special, all the locals are so nice and friendly. Baarle is not a huge town, but it's the perfect place to have a chill little holiday, to walk around, go by bike and discover the crazy borders! I plan to come here many times, as many as possible, as this place transmitted something to my soul I have never felt anywhere else. See you soon!

Honestly, it's literally just a Dutch town.

Honestly, it's literally just a Dutch town. I wouldn't recommend someone taking a trip here especially. If you're passing through the region, sure, stop here to see the weird borders, but there aren't a lot of places where the borders are in interesting places and the town makes WAY less out of it's weird borders than it could. BUT, that is also very Dutch, so.. There are literally about 5 interesting places to take photos, so not worth an entire trip for just this.

The town has interested me for some time because of the geopolitical layout of it, as I'm sure will draw others to it as well. I really enjoyed spending the day exploring this further. As a downside, most of the town shut down on Monday — something I should have realised before planning things, but I've learned for next time.

The apartment is located outside of Baarle-Nassau, a short walk (15-20 minutes) is all you need to reach the town center. The place is run by very nice and hospitable owner. The building is located by the forest, so it is a peaceful and quiet place to stay in. Within the apartment you have all you might need when away from home. The rooms are located on the ground floor, no need to worry about carrying your luggage up the stairs. The breakfast is prepared by the owner, it is very tasty and you might negotiate when it is to be ready.

The hotel staff was super nice and helpful. We could place our bikes into a safe and closed place too. The location for bikers is awesome. Many nice Dutch and Belgian towns and villages around.
