We loved everything about this place. The owners are simply lovely people, full of initiative and energy. The house is more than just beautiful, every little detail has been thought of well. Out room was fantastic: spacious, cosy and full of original details. The breakfast was yummie and so was the free coffee and tea (with complimentary chocolates). The fruit trees in the extensive gardens of the property, which really makes you realise you are in the Betuwe-area. This place is a little gem, tucked away in the beautiful nature and water lands (uiterwaarden) of Eck en Wiel. We would love to come back some time!

Check in was fast and easy. Did use the sauna during my stay, it is a small sauna (3-4 max) but it worked great. Parking was easy and right in front of the hotel.

We were looking for small town, countryside, quiet experience. This place is amazing. We were greeted by the friendliest staff. They were ALL so helpful. Ghislaine, one of the property hosts welcomed us and showed us around and gave great suggestions. She made us feel like we knew her forever. We can’t wait to go back. The experience and ambience at Voltaire restaurant is unforgettable. It was amazing. Every bit worth it. We loved it.

We were nine cyclists staying for one night as part of a longer trip. It was raining very heavily when we reached the hotel and we arrived before our check in time. The hotel was hosting a large lunchtime party, but staff were very understanding and extremely helpful, and gave us immediate access to our rooms in order that we could change and explore the village to find some late lunch. There were also secure places to leave our bikes. The rooms were individually furnished, were immaculately clean and we all spent a very comfortable night. We ate in the restaurant in the evening. The restaurant manager was extremely hospitable, friendly and great fun and the food and drinks were all delicious too. Breakfast in the morning was very good. It was well laid out in a large dining area. Looking back on our three week adventure, we all agreed that this was the best hotel we stayed in. Good value for money too.

We have been very pleased with the entire experience. Our positive interactions began before our arrival, when we had several requests due to flight schedules and meetings. Rene responded promptly and positively to all of our requests. The room was charming, spotless, and had a cute little rooftop terrace! The bathrooms had fresh flowers and we had little chocolate bonbons as a welcome gift. There was a coffee machine with ready capsules, and everything necessary to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The location was also perfect. There was no problem with parking and because it was right on the corner of the center, we were able to have a nice walk through the town in the evening. I travel frequently and this stay was definitely one of the most enjoyable. Rene's professionalism exceeded my expectations, as he helped us resolve the breakfast issue. I will definitely return and will recommend the establishment to others.

Eck and wiel is right in the middle of the Betuwe which is the fruit area of Holland. Sadly when we were there (end March) the blossoms were not out yet . The village Amerongen right across the river Rijn is your typical cute Dutch village with a real working windmill and a restored castle for which you need to book a ticket in advance. As were were there before the season, everywhere was nice a quiet but judging by all the camping signs and bike routes during the summer it will be very very busy in the whole area of Holland. We also recommend you book a table in a restaurant , we went to Rhenen and ate at de Konibg van Denemarken. Fantastic place, great admosfere, large space but felt very cosy. Food was perfect; no frills just good steak and chips. Wide range of food choices but all ‘normal’ food. Great!
