The owner was a delight! He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. The charming hotel is a historic landmark in the area from the 1600’s with beautifully restored common areas like the cozy gathering room with a huge fireplace and leather couches. The dining room was my favorite! The restaurant onsite was delicious and very reasonably priced.

This is a great location.

This is a great location. We were there in May and it was very quiet. I imagine it would be quite busy in the summer. The staff was wonderful and very helpful with our questions. I would not hesitate to return and I hope I can someday!

We drove along the bottom road and then hiked to the...

We drove along the bottom road and then hiked to the Feigefossen waterfall. We'll worth it, walking boots are required as rocky and uneven path. The supermarket is easily walked to, Mango IPA, a real treat for my partner, not had previously and apparently delicious 😋

Beautiful location and stunning view.

Beautiful location and stunning view. Good kitchen facilities and barbecue. Well furnished. Gorgeous garden and green house. Lovely hosts. Pool could have been a couple of degrees warmer. The showers flooding the shower room was annoying. Not much hot water. But overall, a lovely stay. We would stay again.

The info about the room was misleading; it said mountainviews, seaview etc and the photos showed a view of the fjord, the quite small room and the waterfront deck but in reality the room had a view of the road, some parking lots, houses and mountains in the background 😖 After some discussions with the staff we were able to cancel the booking as the hotel was otherwise fully booked and we couldn’t get the kind of room we had expected. It was a pity as we had looked forward to our stay and the dinner we had booked too.

We had a very nice and special stay. The view was stunning, rooms were charming and we enjoyed delicious home made breakfast. We met the host who was very welcoming and accommodating, even if we checked in later than planned. We also enjoyed a nice little hike to the Wittgenstein house, just half an hour walk from the hotel. The hotel was just what we were aiming for, and also great value for money.

The hotel provided the dinner service that was really good, as it was difficult to find any restaurants or shops in the mountains areas after 6pm. The breakfast was very good. The room is clean and comfortable. The surrounding is very nice and quiet.

Best location I’ve been to in Norway so far! Staff were wonderful, accomodating and considerate. Accomodation was generous and plentiful. Close to everything you need in Skjolden and some of the best hikes of my life!
