Location is perfect, next to the main Bay in the center of Stavanger. The reception personnel were just great, they encourage us to use the hotel bicicles for a small ride in the city, it was great!. We had one of our best breakfasts of our trip in Denmark and Norway (out of 8 different hotels). Hotel decoration was very nice with a modern style using "Victorian" details. Room quite nice for a family of four.

I planned my holiday to be there during the Tall Ships race which was a fantastic event and I was surprised that cost and availability of hotels was not a problem at that time. I've been to Stavanger many times and my recommendations are: 1. Take elevator to top floor of K8 building (tallest in Stavanger) and go out on the roof terrace to see the view. If it's not open, ask the Wine Bar to let you out there as it was designed to be a public amenity. 2. Hang out in main library, eat takeaway food and drink there, enjoy the books and exhibitions, use free toilets on higher floors, not the expensive ones in cinema basement. 3. Visit the old town, Gamle Stavanger, in the evening when there are no cruise ships present and take time to discover and walk down all the streets. 4. Walk or jog down the left (west) side of Vågen harbour along the quaysides as far as you can go and admire the views and atmosphere.

Very cosy and "old" town with lots of beautiful small alleys...

Very cosy and "old" town with lots of beautiful small alleys and wooden houses, cobblestone streets and plenty small restaurants, pubs, and local stores with both the classic tourism traps and local crafts. Town is expensive though. Not by Norwegian standards but Norway is expensive overall and this is a town filled with tourists during spring-autumn. You need good walking shoes if you want to see the town. It's built on a mountain side. So there is a lot of hills and steep streets to walk. Do not wear high heels unless you're good with cobblestones. There are a few good clubs (and many bad ones) but lots of great pubs after a day of walking around, and plenty of restaurants with local and classic food. If you're planning on clubbing, ask the younger locals where to go. They know what club will be good that night and which to avoid. "Inside rock cafe" in Stavanger have great burgers but also a good amount of pool tables, air hockey and dart activities to rent, while having full rights to serve alcohol. If you enjoy that, it's a must to visit. Fargegata is probably the most famous street in Stavanger. Pastel-coloured houses and plenty small pubs and restaurants with an amazing atmosphere. This is the place you meet friends over a coffee or just to read a good book while watching people walk by. Old town is a great place if you enjoy small streets with wooden houses cramped together filled with flowers and art.

A great destination for the curious traveller.

A great destination for the curious traveller. Lots to enjoy within walking distance. Interesting split of the Old Town on one side of the harbour and the cobbled streets of the retail areas on the other side. If your heading to the Stavanger Kunsthall the BGE Contemporary Art Centre is worth a look. The Printing & Canning Museum is also very good. Finally, when in Norway I always visit the central library wherever I am as they are usually extremely interesting buildings and very busy - this one didn't disappoint!

The best apartment we stayed in during our road trip in Norway. Located in a quiet area within a short walking distance to Gamle Stavanger, the harbour area or grocery stores, with a parking space in front of the house. Bright and spacious living area with access to a private garden. Well arranged and fully equipped kitchen. Very responsive hosts.

The place was so lovely and the pizza place and the bakery on ground floor were amazing. Best pizza my partner and I have ever had - we ended up eating downstairs a few times during our stay. Within walking distance from the city centre and there’s also a decently priced parking lot right next to the building which was convenient
