Beautiful location, tucked away on the hillside in Dollu. The lodge was very quiet, surrounded by beautiful flowers, vegetable and herb garden and fruit trees. The room was clean and comfortable with a working toilet, bidet, and shower. The upstairs dining room area overlooks peaceful hillside and is a perfect place to sit around and chat with other travelers and owners. There is a strong internet access. The hosts were friendly and helpful with directions to the local hikes. Mina, the co-owner was an amazing cook. She made delicious paneer, tahli, chicken dish, Nepalese peanut sadako appetizer, and banana pancakes, to name a few. The Guru Rinpoche and Adzom Monasteries are within the walking distance along the country side road. Pharping and Asura Caves were also within the walking distance ( approximately 1 hr walk) or a taxi ride for 400rupees. Highly recommend to stay here before or after your trek to unwind, eat healthy and delicious food and chat with the owners and other travelers.

We were looking for a quiet place outside the core city but within the city. Booked this place with not much expectation but turn out to be excellent choice exceeding our expectations. Good thing it will give you a home feeling, more than amenities, this "Home feel" was amazing. This family mingles so well in short conversations, giving us a homely feeling. Rooms were in a separate building from the host family all basic amenities were provided. Good bed, clean toilet, cozy kitchen with all required utensils. Short walk from the Swayambhunath Temple, 10-minute drive from Thamel. A peaceful place with a lot of greenery gives a feeling of a resort. Highly recommended for those who hate hotels and love to stay with family, better for longer stays

Really lovely people, beds were comfy and clean rooms. Cool location. Not in a very busy area, on a bit of a mountain - about a 5-10minute walk to some really good restaurants on top of the hill that you can feed the eagles. The light in the room changed colours which was pretty sick.

I enjoyed staying with Aashish, Sujata, and Manju for several weeks (March-April '23) as an IVHQ volunteer from New Jersey. I couldn't have been more pleased; every need I had was met. And talk about a room: I was accommodated on the beautiful rooftop terrace with a balcony that gazed over the Himalayan foothills. I would highly encourage couples to reserve this specific space. Location: Kirtipur is not merely a place on a map, but a living canvas for human history. It’s a place where ancient temples coexist harmoniously with modern life, perched high along the hillside overlooking the capital city of Kathmandu. Though Kirtipur Comfort Homestay is outside of central Kathmandu, it is incredibly easy, fast, and affordable to travel there via the app InDrive (similar to Uber, Lyft, etc). Thus, the location should encourage you. In fact, I recommend staying outside of Kathmandu for a full 360-degree experience. Kirtipur Comfort Homestay is an opportunity to experience Kathmandu Valley from the inside out. Comfort: I have experience living in several homestays throughout Central/Southeast Asia as both a volunteer and a backpacker. I feel that my time at Kirtipur Comfort Homestay allowed me to connect the most deeply with my host family and fellow travelers. I also found the facilities clean, comfortable, and genuine. The house itself is quite large, allowing for some privacy, but also brings people together in the spacious living room. Kirtipur Comfort Homestay lives up to its name. Food: Although I ended up eating out often with fellow volunteers, I loved the food provided by the homestay. Breakfasts are simple, but filling: an abundance of fresh fruit, toast, coffee, tea, and sometimes pastries. Dinners are cooked in-house - traditional Nepali cuisine - with offerings such as dal bhat. Vegetarians and vegans can surely be accommodated with these offerings. But we ordered Western-style dishes too, like pizza.
