Every moment there feels magical, and the most important .....What made our stay more special was meeting some of the local mountain people working at the hotel..They were truly kind ,respectful , and welcoming .

We were happy to find a room with 3 single beds for the kids. The staff went above and beyond with every occasion. Omani hospitality lives up to the expectations. The perfect place to rest after a fantastic hike.

PortugalThe apartment is located close to all amenities and within walking distance of a beautiful palm tree forest and a cafe within it. I used it as a base to explore the region. The apartment is well equipped and value for money. The bed is comfortable and the area is peaceful and quiet. I stayed for three nights and I would return for longer in the future. I recommend you visit Bait al Safa, just a few minutes away...
I recommend you visit Bait al Safa, just a few minutes away which is a wonderful idea of a living museum. There you will find a real traditional house with real inhabitants, grandchildren, children and grandparents who will show you how life is in Oman. Don't miss it. Otherwise it's a quiet town, but it's a great starting point for visiting the Balcony Walk.

The farms with the falaj system are educational and worth a visit. Older folks with walking issues may find the walks and treks difficult. Good time to visit during winter.Walking around the farms and old houses in Misfat Al Abreyeen in narrow paths is a different experience.

We stayed in Old Al Hamra at the Al Bait Aljabal Hospitality...
We stayed in Old Al Hamra at the Al Bait Aljabal Hospitality Inn which was wonderful. Beautifully artistically decorated. The very helpful owner found a local guide for us Abdul Rahman Alabri to take us in his 4x4 to Jebel Shams to do the Balcony Walk. AbdulRachman was truly excellent with a lovely kind personality. Very informative. I would never have managed the Balcony Walk without him as, although a hill walker, I can experience a fear of heights. The Balcony Walk has big drops on it though you are never truly exposed. Being with a local guy who knew what he was doing gave me confidence. His cousin owns a lovely cafe Saef in amongst the palm trees in old Al Hamra. You really are away from the commercial side of tourism there. Al Hamra can act as a base for many other places in the mountains. Easy to get to Misfah for example

Traditional and very quite place in the middle of a small heritage village. Friendly and helpful staff. As a family of five, we had booked two rooms. One with bathroom, the other one had shared bathroom on the floor. All very clean and comfortable to use. Great old style Omani flair within the house. Definitely suitable for families and well located to have day trips around the area as there is plenty to see and all nearby. 24/7 access, however, check-in before 11pm recommended. We would have appreciated a breakfast included in our price.

Misfat al Abraeen is very close and Jebel Shams is nearby if you like hiking.

1. Location of the Hotel is excellent with good view.
2. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
3. Food (Buffet) is very good.
4. Swimming pool is having a good view
Additionally, I would like to Appreciate the Hotel staff for allowing me Late checkout as i suddenly fall very very sick a night before checkout day. The additional 2 hours of rest before late checkout really helped me in long drive back to city.

A restored house in the national style. An immersion into traditional Omani life. Clean linens, hot water in the shower. A beautiful, huge communal terrace with great views. In the evening, all hotel guests must observe silence, as the walls between the rooms allow you to hear everything. But everyone is very tired from the day's experiences and sleeps quietly.

We have stayed 1 night in this nice house. 3 bedrooms and 1 kitchen. Chilly during night at 2500m high. We have managed to find woods in the surroundings and did a fire camp. There is a small grocery store next to the house. It is a recommended place to stay. The owner is very kind and easy to get in touch if you need.

The room feels like a 5 star hotel vibes. New furnitures with complete toiletries. With beautiful shared lounge, shared kitchen and kids play area. Very advisable to stay here if travelling near or in Al Hamra area.
