This place is a hidden gem. Extremely well designed and tastefully decorated. Suitable to a mix of audiences which makes it a good place to meet other people. Beaches and nature are great. Renting the kayaks gives you easy access to the nearby islands. I can't recommend this place enough. Should be included in any trip in Panama. Easy to reach from David. If you are not traveling by car then you can take a collectivo from the Interamericana which will bring you to the boat landing. From there it is a 3$ boat ride to the hotel.

I recently had the honor of being the first guest at Fish On lodge in Boca Chica! Alex and Susie made me feel like family. The lodge is like a giant house with 4 guest rooms. Great location close to the town of Boca Chica. Alex has years of experience booking fishing charters and he has 2 or 3 boats ready at the lodge to book one or multi day fishing adventures. I plan to return soon to experience the full adventure of the Boca Chica area.

It is so quiet there, it was difficult for me to go to sleep! I had to find an app on my phone to play background noise in order to go to sleep. The views of the mountains are incredible. The water is very hot and the A/C is very cold. The King size bed was extremely comfortable & there were multiple pillows and they were all very nice. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

It’s great for snorkeling, fishing, swimming. By staying at the hotel, they have connection with independent boat captains for bringing guests to different island. The cost for the taking a boat trip was very reasonable for visiting 3 different islands for swimming, snorkeling.

It’s a very chilled, laid back place.

It’s a very chilled, laid back place. There are beautiful islands to visit by boat. The town is tiny, just two streets. There is little choice for restaurants but there are some excellent hotels and resorts. It’s a peaceful place, off the beaten track. We loved it! Highly recommend hotel ‘Gone Fishing’ not only for fishing fans, it’s a superb place to stay for anyone!

The fishing is incredible! There are at least five restaurants there, so we didn't take any food to prepare in the BnB. We fished with Bucket List Fishing (formerly Reel Inn) https://reelinninpanama.com/.

Boca Chica is nothing short of spectacular.

Boca Chica is nothing short of spectacular. From seasonal whale watching and playful dolphins to curious monkeys and vibrant birdlife, nature is always on display. Glide through mangroves by kayak, explore scenic hiking trails, or hop between pristine islands just offshore. Add to that the warm hospitality and delicious cuisine served in its charming restaurants, and you’ll find that Boca Chica doesn’t just meet expectations, it exceeds them.

Boca Chica is a quaint fishing village with a few hotels/...

Boca Chica is a quaint fishing village with a few hotels/resorts and restaurants. There are water taxis that will take you to one of the islands for $3 (2025 rate). There are also tour boats for hire that will take you out to see the humpback whales (in season), as well as fishing boats to take you out to fish. It's a very safe area, and most people speak a little English. In the fancier resorts, English is understood. Check out Bocas del Mar for a great meal and a beautiful place to stay. If you don't mind staying a few minutes away (10 or so), and like seclusion, check out El Regalo!

Very isolated part of Panama.

Very isolated part of Panama. You can find decent food at the various resorts. They need a better market in the little village area. Something as simple as sunscreen could not be purchased. They also did a little hassling with me on the parking sitch (you have to pay parking in the village to take a boat ride - kinda lame), but I'm not going to make a big deal out of a few dollars.

An unexpected gem in Panama. The small boutique hotel is off the grid and hidden in lots of nature. The owners and staff are very friendly. Rooms are spacious and big soft beds. The food is delicious. And there is lots to do for kids: pickle ball court, ping pong, games and books. And a lovely pool. Nearby, 30 min walk or 5 min car is a beautiful private beach. During our horse back riding trip we went to this beach. Really an amazing experience in El Regalo hotel. Wish we could have stayed here longer!

What a special place to cool down and relax! The whole team was so kind and helpful, in spite of the owner died some months before - thank you so much for that extraordinairy effort . We only had well done meals and tasty breakfasts, as well as the transport to Puerto Boca Chica or the lift to the boattours were always reliable. A walk over the Island is a exiting encounter with plants, butterflys and monkeys. If you‘re looking for quiet and relaxing days, Boca Brava is the Right place.

Beautiful spot, perfectly situated in Boca Chica with access to boat trips and a relaxing time at the sea or pool. Brad was super helpful with organizing activities during our stay and providing recommendations for lunch and dinner locations. Breakfast was rich and of good quality. We will be coming back 😁

We chose Boca Chica because we wanted to see the islands in the bay, the owner of the place organized the trip for us, and it was amazing and truly beautiful. The accommodation itself is nice and clean with a delicious breakfast, cold water only (as many other places in Panama).
