Meghan and Ryan are the absolute best hosts I've had in a while. They are very friendly and always open to giving advice or help. This place is a private and calm gem hidden in plain sight, just a couple of minutes from Isla Colón.

What’s not to like. This is the closest to heaven one can get. The hotel is spotless. Perfect in almost every detail. The staff is friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Veronica, Moises, Sochi. But everyone was incredibly helpful and always with a smile. The hotel is huge with 3 pools, decoration is beautiful and rooms are large. Food is good, breakfast has good options. This is a place you just don’t want to leave. They have activities like yoga classes, breathing or salsa. I could go on and on about la Coralina.

At first impression, reminded us of Key West; however, there is very little shopping as far as quality stores for clothing or nice souvenirs. Great place if you are focused on beach life; diving, surfing, snorkeling, fishing, beach relaxation, etc.

Bocas Town is a tourist destination, but is also the gateway...

Bocas Town is a tourist destination, but is also the gateway to the rest of the Bocas de Toro archipelago. It is the water taxi hub to the nearby islands that have great beaches and snorkeling. Tour packages are inexpensive. It is smaller than expected, but vibrant. The nearest beach is Istmito, about 20 minutes walk from the downtown area. The water and sand there were dark and univiting, and was covered in debis. I don't recommend it. You need some kind of transportation to get to the other Isla Colon beaches: Bluff, Paunch, Estrella (Starfish), and Drago. Bikes, e-bikes, scooters, golf carts, ATVs and cars are all available for rental. Plenty of land taxis but no Uber. There are lots of places to dine, catering to local palettes and foreigners alike. There is a whole street of food booths along one side of the city square for cheap eats. Sukhah is a trailer that creates some good burgers.

Felt very safe, even as a gringo wandering through the grittier parts of Bocas. I did like to see that the townsfolk appeared to be vigilant about cleaning up piles of construction debris and garbage, although there are places where there was accumulated detritus that had obviously been there a while. I loved the accessibility to tasty, inexpensive street food from friendly locals. Bought a delicious pineapple empanada from an old dude on a rusty bicycle. Step out of your sanitized comfort zone and don't ignore the little things like that..... you'll really enjoy the Bocas experience. Great seaside bars/restaurants. The local seafood dishes at little hole-in-the-wall places should not be missed.

A budget surfer haven with more bars than churches, Bocas has a youthful energy that was fun. It isn’t for someone seeking a polished Caribbean island beach scene. The prices are equal to the US so bargains are hard to find.

It’s very weather dependent!

It’s very weather dependent! And it probably will rain at some point. Definitely take a boat trip, but you can save money taking a water taxi rather than committing to an all day trip. I highly recommend staying in Big Creek, it’s very pretty and mellow and just a couple of kilometres outside Bocas. Bocas town is very small and a bit scruffy, there’s not much to do except go to bars and restaurants. Cycling is a great way to get around. Isla Colon is really worth exploring, you can visit the jungle and waterfalls as well as find lovely beaches. You’ll need transport like an electric bike or scooter. The whole area is abundant with wildlife.

We enjoyed The Restaurante Bar El Pirata and Buena Vista...

We enjoyed The Restaurante Bar El Pirata and Buena Vista both of which had excellent seafood and were on the water and the oceanfront scenery is beautiful. We enjoyed taking a boat around the islands. Getting around can be a challenge due to construction but the taxis are great. The best part was relaxing by the water.

Carlo and his wife are friendly and attentive hosts. The rooms matched the photos. The wifi worked well. You can cook or have food delivered to the outdoor dining area. The hotel is about 700 meters from Pipa Beach, which is one of the few beaches on Isla Colon that is good for swimming because it has sand and no waves. My wife needed a taxi to go to Pipa Beach because the roads are under construction and covered with big stones. The hotel is a short taxi ride to Bocas Town for restaurants and boat excursions.

Beautiful beach The food was nice ( but a little expensive, & as it’s quite remote and it’s $16 minimum for a return shared shuttle back to Bocas town, it’s often easier to stay on the resort to eat… meals here add up ! - be aware of this if you’re travelling on a budget !) The staff I spoke to were nice Live music at dinner was nice Yoga sessions were lovely

Honestly this place was so cute, I really enjoyed my stay here. It’s right on the water and so gorgeous. The two kitchens makes it easy to cook at the same time as others and omg the pina coladas were the best I’ve had. No air con or hot water but I didn’t mind this so much, just worth baring in mind if you’re someone it’s an issue for xxx

Skullys is an incredible hostel right on the waterfront. It has beautiful views and great places to hang out. The kitchens and dorms had everything we needed and the cleaning staff worked really hard to keep everything clean and tidy. Everyone is so friendly and we had the most amazing stay we will definitely be back.
