The most compelling aspect was the friendly professionalism of the staff - always eager to help. The selection of eating spaces and the menu was a plus. Although I didn't have a chance to swim I could see many people enjoying the facility. I did however enjoy using the spacious and well equipped gym

The Airways Hotel is an excellent choice for comfort and convenience. Located just minutes from the airport and was a great base for my excursions. The meals were consistently delicious, with a great mix of quality and flavor. My room was very spacious and comfortable. What truly stood out, though, was the staff exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and always eager to help. Overall, a fantastic stay and a place I would gladly return to.

Papua New Guinea is a truly unique and distinctive country,...

Papua New Guinea is a truly unique and distinctive country, and visitors should be mindful of the overall costs involved. In addition to the visa fee, there are also departure charges, including a climate change levy, which add to the total expense of traveling in and out of the country. From my personal experience, I felt that the cost of services was relatively high compared to what is provided, which may be disappointing for some travellers if expectations are not managed in advance. That said, for those considering a visit, preparation is key. Being ready for unexpected challenges, maintaining flexibility, and approaching the journey with a positive mindset will greatly enhance the experience. In return, visitors are rewarded with beautiful weather, striking natural surroundings, and an exceptional cultural experience grounded in rich traditions and local heritage. Approached with openness and patience, Papua New Guinea can be deeply memorable and rewarding.

Getting to know from expat community that Holiday Inn was worst in every way and even much cheaper but higher quality hotels were available. No one wants to come to Holiday Inn for food since it’s lousiest in the city.

All along I was of the impression the city of Port Moresby is concentrate in an area with its CBD. I later found out the city of Port Moresby is scattered in a large land area. It was interesting to learning that the lifestyle to much more related to the lifestyle back in Vanuatu therefore I always feel at home while visiting PNG for the first time and hope to make more visit in the future.

Port Moresby has security issues for any visitors who stand out. This is not to say the locals don't have problems too. I sense it is largely poverty-driven with a lack of opportunity. There are definitely places to see there, but I would only stay there for the time you require to see these and avail yourself of services less available in the rest of PNG.... and then move on. It is more restful and secure to stay at a place like Loloata Island, just out of Port Moresby. A shuttle bus from and to the airport can be arranged.

This is rated as one of the most dangerous cities in the world. It is NOT set up for tourists. The only tourist souvineer shop I could find was on the way out at the airport. Everyone I talked to told me to only travel with a reputable guide and certainly not to travel alone, especially at night. Prices are very high for tourist the prices are set for people dealing with the natural resorcses, gold, oil, and raee earth minerals, which i guess they have plenty of. If you go as a tourist it is best to go on a group package. I personally had no problems I had a great escort.

Act like PNG locals.

Act like PNG locals. Don't be afraid to mingle and ask questions. I walked from Crown Hotel (CH) to Ela Beach (EB) and APEC Haus and the people I met that evening were very friendly and happily doing their own stuff, like walking up and down the small hill between CH and EB.

Absolutely recommended. Great price for a luxurious hotel. The personnel were very kind, always smiling and willing to help. The airport pickup is very much appreciated, they waited for me (even though it took a longer time to get my luggage) and took me to the hotel despite my early morning arrival. I was very glad I didn't have to wait at the airport!
