To visit the UNESCO rice terraces this is a fantastic location. You must walk in over a steep road and steep stairs to get there for about 15 minutes. So, do not plan to take your big roller bag! The rooms are basics but clean. The food was good. The manager was excellent and was always willing to help.

It was lovely. I'm glad we stayed 3nights. It was a difficult journey due to the road conditions of up and down and sometimes the steps are too high and narrow next to the ravines. But we are all glad we made this trip us we are all in our 70s. Our ages are 76, 2 72, 1 71, 45 n 41. We older were helped by our younger companions and the people that. brought our stuff. But it was a wonderful trip. Inspite of the difficulties. The woman running the place was very accommodating. She's excellent.

Best location with overlooking view of the Batad Rice terraces in your bedroom and dining area. Really recommend this inn if you want to rest for a bit, bask in the view with local coffee brew before the actual hike and descent to the main village and Tappiya falls. Thanks to our guide Kuya Dave for being patient with us and helping our 84 yr old grandma finish the hike. Thanks as well to the staff, Ms. Kim, Roxanne and her mother, for preparing our food, especially the curry, chopsuey, and chicken tinola! Also gave us more shampoo when we ran out. Sir Ulysses’ and family kept us company on our last night. The inn also offer massages which is a must try if you’re a massage enthusiast. Their techniques are really different compared to city massage therapists.

Batad Countryside was an oasis during our two-night stay in Batad. It's the first hotel you'll come across as you're hiking into Batad, which is fantastic, and after walking through the whole village, I wouldn't be surprised if it's one of the nicer guesthouses available. There is a communal dining/hangout area on the second floor of the property which has absolutely stunning views of the rice terraces, and the rooms are simple but surprisingly spacious and comfortable. The shared bathroom was much larger than expected and is kept clean. The menu was surprisingly large and we enjoyed everything we tried -- make sure to try the roasted rice coffee/tea! The property staff are also extremely kind and wonderful to talk to and learn from; they made our stay a joy. As a bonus, there were two playful kittens as well!

The place is so serene and peaceful! If you're looking for the perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature, Baleh Boble Guest House is definitely the best place to stay at Banaue. Aside from the beautiful surroundings, the owners are incredibly kind and accommodating! Surprisingly, we were the only Filipino guests during our stay the rest were Europeans! Hehe. Well located just a few minutes out of the main part of town but easy to get a tricycle and the lovely host Elma will be happy to arrange it for you. She is also happy to provide meals as long as you tell her in advance. Also arranges tours for Batad, Hapao and other local places. Warm, welcoming space to call home during your visit.

Really nice people. Lhoren answered all our questions and was able to help us arrange transportation to the Cauayan airport from Batad. She cooks great meals. Options for vegans and vegetarians. Great prices. Hot water. Laundry services. Squat toilets. Cheap WiFi vouchers available. Beautiful view from the rooftop and good location for all the hiking in Batad. You can hike independently, or Lhoren can help you get a guide. Value massages available, offered by people all around town. Everyone knows Lhoren. If you need help finding her place just ask around. Also, walking sticks available to use! We look forward to recommending this place to our friends and would stay again.

My solo DIY trip to Batad, Banaue was an absolutely pleasant onceinalifetime experience. I did a lot of research (YouTube, Reddit, instagram) yet nothing…nothing prepared me for the utter visual magnificence of seeing the rice terraces up close and in person. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Rice terraces were beautiful, best time to go is June said our guides. Hapao hot springs was my highlight, more so the scenery than the spring. Batad rice terraces were also beautiful but unfortunately has a huge landslide through the middle. Just a 5-10min walk from the parking on a cement path. Bro zone bar did good food and had a great atmosphere. The best spots all require a moderate trek so consider that.

Wow, what an experience off the beaten path.

Wow, what an experience off the beaten path. The winding roads and the lack of some amenities (think wifi) in some places make this trip worthwhile. Banaue offers a look into almost a whole new world and an appreciation for people who really do arduous work for a life. The development and maintenance of these rice terraces is indeed impressive. Worth the time to get there.

Great views, make sure you visit their museums to understnd...

Great views, make sure you visit their museums to understnd the culture and history....we enjoyed Banaue, Bontoc and Sagada on a locally negotiated van tour, including trip to Baguio. Banaue is a trekker's paradise, like a green version of Switzerland before civilization, so unless you enjoy hiking, some sights require a hike to get there. However, senior citizens can also enjoy sightseeing and not get into the standard tours which require much hiking and climbing. Even on start of dry season, there can be rain showers, so make sure you have proper layered clothing for temperature variations. Good walking shoes recommended. View of rice terraces from view points along the road can be enjoyed without having to go down and up steep winding stairs and walking thru rice paddies as we did, just touring around and taking pictures. Short distances can be enjoyed via tuktuk/motorized tricycles. Van recommended for mountainous terrain and long day tours. Manila-Banaue direct bus not the best, but doable on a budget. Manila-Baguio-Banaue bus route may be more comfortable since more luxury buses go that route. Bargain with locals on tours since tours from Manila to Banaue can be pricey unless you are with a group and you are ok with their schedule. Some folks hire a taxi from Manila, so negotiate fares, Travel light and enjoy local fruits. Plantains nd biscocho sold are fresh and the best for snacks, Ask for brewed coffee or enjoy packaged coffee versions.

I only wanted to visit Batad Rice Terraces but we also tried...

I only wanted to visit Batad Rice Terraces but we also tried to visit other locations. its fascinating that other locations still managed to maintain their rice terraces. I enjoyed walking in the Pilapil. What I don't like is the hot spring, too small and pricey entrance. Maybe i was just having too much expectations, but I didn't enjoyed the hot spring.

Banaue and the trip to Batad is a must see.

Banaue and the trip to Batad is a must see. Getting there from Manila is a bit of a nightmare though. Coda bus lines are the best public transport. Rent a pvt transport rather if you can afford it. If you go by bus, stock up on motion sickness tablets and take some water tight bags along. Set a full morning aside to recover from the trip.
