We liked the decoration and the use of the kitchen. We picked some oranges straight from the tree and got some fresh eggs, courtesy of the house! The location and surroundings are very nice.

This is an old farmhouse and nicely renovated. Every was clean, modern, but also cozy. The house is in the middle of nowhere, overlooking a beautiful valley and mountains. Absolutely peace and tranquillity. If you plan to walk to the next bar or restaurant, forget about it, but Alcoutim is a nice town 30 minutes drive away. It is a nice ride there along the River. Breakfast was excellent and the host very nice and helpful. We would go back.

Alcoutim is a beautiful town, very friendly and calm.

Alcoutim is a beautiful town, very friendly and calm. We ate at restaurants BH and O Contrabandista which were both exceptional. You can take a small boat 5 minutes across the river to Spain to another small town. There is a cool zip wire for 20 euros which crosses the border back to Portugal. There is lots of 14th century history in both towns. Legend says it’s a place where contraband was smuggled during battles. The overall peacefulness of the place is very relaxing and pleasant.

The hotel was very clean, the room pleasant but small, very quiet and peaceful excellent for chilling out. Not a lot to see, restricted in restaurants, trip to Spain via the small ferry interesting, but again very little to see. Surrounding area worth a visit

The hotel is set in a quiet location and has great views across the river (Spain is on the other side). The town of Alcoutim has good restaurants within walking distance ( 10 to 15 minutes). The hotel seems to attract Portuguese families with young children so the pool was always busy and noisy. The town has a small ferry boat to take you to the other side or take you on trips up and down the river (30 minutes or 1 hour for 7.50 euros or 15 euros respectively). There is also a river beach nearby but we did not use it. There are canoes, kayaks and jet-skis to hire very close to the hotel. The hotel room does not provide tea/coffee-making facilities. When we asked for a kettle they said they only had one which they needed for breakfast.

Alcoutim is a place good for rest and have some activities. Near to Algarve beaches and near to Spain is a nice place to stay, but Managers should pay more atention and be able to do more to increase the profits.

We love Alcoutim and have stayed at this lovely hotel many times now. The room we chose has a fabulous view of the pool and the river across to Spain. The breakfast is very good value for money with plenty to choose from. The staff are efficient and helpful. We arrived early and the usual friendly man on reception (should know his name) checked us in early. Easy 10 minute walk into town. Would definitely recommend. It’s a lovely little town and hotel.

The staff are amazing very helpful and polite, easy going. The location is great very quiet and good views over the river and Alcoutim. Breakfast free and great start to the day. The shower water pressure and hot water very good.

Great value hotel with a fabulous view over the Guadiana. The food is also good value and the hotel is in a great location in Alcoutim with good car parking availability.
