Amazing property with lovely views. There is a spa (we had fantastic massages and used the water treatment area). The staff is incredible and went above and beyond to make our stay special. Breakfast was lovely.

Our host met us at the gate upon arrival, let us in and showed us around. She made us feel very much at home! The apartment was lovely, with everything we could have needed! The yard was beautiful, with a big kiwi arbor for shade, an outdoor kitchen and dining area, and lovely view of the river and ocean. It was amazing!

Everything was simply perfect. The house is so beautiful, everything fits, just like travelling in time back to 100 years ago, but with all the commodities we have nowadays. Susana, Andrés and all the other people working there are awesome, welcoming and charming. They help you with everything you may need, even pointing to nice places to visit in the nearby villages and towns, good restaurants, etc. We didn't have brunch there, but the breakfast was sooo good, I guess we will go back soon to give that brunch a try. 10/10, all was simply perfect for us.

Caminha is a great town, there are many nice spots close by.

Caminha is a great town, there are many nice spots close by. The town itself is very beautiful with nice restaurants. Close by you have Praia Moledo which is very kids friendly and there are also options for surfing lessons. 20 min away you also have Villa da Cerveiro which is nice town and very traditional. In general it is a great spot to stay 4-5 days and explore a bit. A nice restaurant is Maria Moledo, very tasty! it was great experience and local food. In Praia Moledo there are many nice restaurants along the beach where you can easily find a spot for lunch or dinner even without booking. People in general are very friendly and dont take advantage of tourists.

While I think Caminha is a city it had that small village (aldeia) feel to it. We spent some time exploring the village as well as some of the other outlying area. We did stop for a little lunch in a small-ish cafe. We had pork Cheeks and Waffles with Avacado and of course a bit of Vinho-Tinto. It was a pleasant was to spend the afternoon.

Caminha is a quaint little town on the Spanish border.

Caminha is a quaint little town on the Spanish border. It has the local charm of a Portuguese town. We stayed in an apartment, dined out, and cooked at home. The local farmers market is on Wednesday and Saturday, ideal for buying fresh vegetables, fruit, charcuterie, and bread. The local fish market has bacalhau and fresh vegetables from Tuesday to Saturday. Our favourite lunch place was Trincaria Happy Food Bakery. Their daily lunch menu was great and good value. At the square, we enjoyed Cafe Central for a drink in the afternoon, an the pasteleria on the other side, for morning coffee. Canto do Lobo, with its slow food concept, is recommended for dinner at least once during your stay. It offers great food, great service, really good conversation, and value for money. They also have a huge beer collection, both bottles and draft beer. Easy to move around the town on foot, and several small supermarkets are open until 21.00 during the week. Walking distance to the beach (15-20min). Easy to bike to nearby communities like Moledo or Praia de Ancora. From the waterfront, there are taxi boats to Spain, La Guardia. If you are in a car, it's a 15-minute drive over the bridge, and you are in Spain. We enjoyed walks in the area and around the town and some drives to nearby towns for meals and exploration. If you are without a car, the train goes to every city nearby in the morning and afternoon, and it is only 1.5 hours by train to Porto.

Caminha, a fortified border town located at the mouth of the river Minho, where several battles were fought between Portugal and Spain, now has much more friendly relations with its neighbor , it is a nice place to stay a few days to discover the area, unfortunately the ferry that connects the two banks of the river, is out of service.

Maria, the host, met us and was extremely nice, providing fruit and a lovely welcome. It is a very comfortable apartment that was shared by us and another couple. We each had our own bathrooms. There are outdoor spaces adjacent to each bedroom, as well as a shared outdoor table, living/dining room and kitchen. It was a 10 minute, easy walk into the centre of Caminha to eat, so we'll located. Great outlook over the river.

The apartment is really spacious, clean, and close to Caminha, Camarido (beach), Moledo, etc. It has a magnificent view to Foz do Rio Minho. Magnificent. You wake up everyday to that view and you have a front row seat to the most beautiful sunset at the end of the day. We loved it. Maria was lovely, she gave us great advice on places to eat and facilitated a later check out which was really helpful.

Position of the hotel is simply the more central you can have in Caminha. We had a lovely surprise with a room upgrade, managed to have the Premium Room with Rio view on the high tech building. The hotel is a beautiful mix of historical palace and modern new design.
