This little hidden village is a shelter from the crowds it...
This little hidden village is a shelter from the crowds it is located north-east of the island. The magical atmosphere and the nearness of the immense ocean make this place very unique. There is a little walk-around path above the pool where u can make a circle around the magnificent rock formation.

Porto da Cruz is a lovely little town with plenty of beachfront cafes, restaurants and public areas to sit and enjoy the spectacular views of the sea and mountains. There is a museum, ruined fort, a few small supermarkets and a pharmacy. The outdoor pools were closed for cleaning but they look amazing.

I stayed here in December over the Christmas holidays.
I stayed here in December over the Christmas holidays. Even though the weather wasn’t always sunny, I truly enjoyed my time, especially the hike along the sea. The accommodation was simply superb and a perfect base for exploring the island. The surrounding area is very beautiful, and overall I had a wonderful stay.

You can’t miss Porto da Cruz when visiting Madeira!
You can’t miss Porto da Cruz when visiting Madeira! It’s small but has a lot of character, I found it wasn’t too touristy which was a nice experience. Praia da Alagoa, although a rocky beach, was great for surfing! Plenty of places to rent boards from or take lessons nearby. We rented boards from the Jaca hostel (where we were staying) and salty which were both great value. Salty also rented hard boards which were great fun for us intermediate surfers. We also went to the furna do porta da Cruz which is a beach pavilion. This was really nice as it was a flat area to sunbathe, but you can also swim (or jump) into the water from there. It also was not overcrowded and seemed more like a locals area which was nice.
We ate out in the Snack Bar a Pipa located next to the Jaca Hostel, which was very busy. Food and atmosphere was really good, however only 1 vegetarian option on the menu. We also ate out at Vila Bella restaurant which was great and overlooked the sea. We stayed in Porto da Cruz for 2 nights and I think we would’ve liked to stay longer!

Beautifully situated little village with everything you need...
Beautifully situated little village with everything you need for a "slow life" relaxing, stress free stay! We visited almost all costal villages in Madera, and Porto da Cruz is by far our favourite!!!! We love this place and keep coming back here! :) Also, the is the best restaurant ever, A Pipa! Thoroughly recommended!

A small but very cozy town.
A small but very cozy town. Has few local supermarkets, few good restaurants and snack bars with a perfect food. Amazing rock views. Also you must visit a Madeira rum factory, that is located in this town and taste it. This town has 2 beaches and 1 local natural pool.

Good location, just outside the village of Porto da Cruz.
Beautiful, luxurious house, albeit a bit dated. House is made of quality materials and very roomy with a beautiful garden. Our room is very spacious with large bathroom (with bidet) and balcony. House has a common large kitchen (with complete utensils), a separate laundry room, a recreation area with billiard table and an area for barbequeing. Large private parking.
Best of all: a very nice and friendly host (Sonia). Excellent communication with Sonia.

Really enjoyed!
The hotel is 2star hotel, but we really liked the comfort. Breakfast was fantastic. Location is perfect. Close to main road. Not also beach and ocean view form window. Swimming pool near to the hotel is amazing, water from ocean. A lot of restaurants near by for lunch and dinner.
Will obviously recommend the hotel.

Great view! The appartement is located a little outside of porto da cruz, since the roads are very steep in madeira you reach a great height after 3 min drive. From the appartement you have an amazing view on the ocean on one side and the mountains on the other. The appartement is quiet and calm.

Tiny little house with a hidden sunny terrace in the centre of a beautiful village Porto da Cruz. It's close to the beach , shops, restaurants and surf spots. Our family loves Guadalupe's apartments. She is a great host! Bonus is a grill and hammock.
