IsraelThe room was big and comfortable, had all the amenities we needed. Everything was clean (enough to walk barefoot around the house). The kitchen was the best part: all the equipment you need for cooking/baking and a bunch of basics (salt, butter, eggs etc.) We stayed for 2 days and each day we had a cake the owner baked for the guests!

The sands of Vila Praia de Âncora extend from the fishing...
The sands of Vila Praia de Âncora extend from the fishing port over to the river. This enormous beach have strong Atlantic waves which means high quality for surfing. In the area adjoining the Avenida Marginal coast road, you can have calmer waters with easier access to the sea. You can find supermarkerts, restaurants and bars to envoy your stay in this small town.
The southern area, accessible to walkers only over a wooden walkway, contains practically always deserted spaces, surrounded by protected sand dunes.
Nearby you have the Serra de Arga hills, with an attractive natural environment, which features some good walking conditions.

It's a surfing and family beach but with the stream coming...
It's a surfing and family beach but with the stream coming through to the ocean, made it a perfect location to bring the family of all ages. Definitely some splashing areas for younger kids and beach access was perfectly set up. I enjoyed the energy of the town and I do look forward to going back after the tourist season has passed.

Perfect for a relaxing break. Nice clean beach. There isn’t any nightlife but some nice reasonably priced restaurants. We particularly enjoyed the ocean restaurant located on the beach front. Great for surfing.

We had a great stay and were very happy.
We had a great stay and were very happy. Vila Praia de Âncora had some wonderful restaurants and the fish was excellent. Make sure to have reservations or you may be disappointed.
The beach is large and beautiful. It wraps around and away from the esplanade. Even in August, by walking a few more meters we had space to ourselves.

Very pleasant and calm. Hope to move my business here . Will move my Canadian canoe, the inflatable motor boat, diving equipment and get a sailing day boat .
Then, it’s all enjoying Vila Praia De Âncora
( tried a restaurant Fortaleza, they were great, service, food and honest in their offerings)

A small town, very easy to get around.
A small town, very easy to get around. We came by train from Lisbon and had rental bicycles for a ten day jaunt delivered to our hotel from Tui, Spain. The first place in Portugal that we saw older people getting about on Mobility Scooters. The long paved route along the shore extends several kilometers to the Minho river. Quite a number of Pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela.
