This place was a Five Star Resort in a very unique place that had lots of wine history.The dinner was exceptional and reasonable and the free breakfast was a nice touch. Beautiful drive down the mountain! Certainly a gem that is a must in the Douro Valley!

We had junior suite, it was spacious including terrace with sunbeds (although no use in March as even with full sunshine the temperature was chilly). We stayed midweek out of the season - actually we were the only staying guest in the hotel. Anyhow, restaurant was open for us (excellent dinner) and breakfast was served directly to our table instead of the buffet style. Excellent service as in the past we have experiences some hotels closing restaurant, etc. if not enough staying customers. Definately place to come again.

Easy, comfortable stay. My room was huge with a giant balcony & and a panoramic view. The quinta was easy to reach by car with loads of free parking. All the staff were great! Meals were good. The dinner menu was short but had enough variety for a few days' stay, and the dishes I ordered were very tasty.

The perfect place to spend several days soaking up the gorgeous views, relaxing as you watch the river boats drift by. Wonderful,caring staff who made you feel so welcome. Breakfast was plentiful, and a good selection. Highly recommend the train to Pochino, absolutely magnificent views of the Douro Valley, and also the train to Pinhao. We loved the village of Foz Tua. The local restaurants offered a great menu, especially the fish. This family run hotel is to be congratulated for it's wonderful customer service.

I loved this place. Beautiful small Quinta and family owned. The room for 3 (2 adults & an eight year old) was spacious (we had a lot of stuff), beds comfortable, clean, with air conditioning and private bathroom. Free parking and breakfast was included. The personnel was excellent, they clean your room daily, if you like. I felt ill one day, they prepared a special soup, took very care of us every day. They offer a tour of their winery (couldn’t do it because I was sick) and my husband say that they have good wines. My daughter loved the pool. Food was delicious. Definitely coming back.

It was our second time staying at Ventozelo. It is no doubt, the best property to enjoy Douro Valley. Gorgeous view of the river, amazing food, good wine, and lovely trails to enjoy.
