It is totally worth a visit.

It is totally worth a visit. The museum is good, and it includes a few rooms dedicated to a surprisingly great collection of mineral and (semi)precious rocks and stones. The central park is small, yet lovely, with even the statue of a bear sitting on a bench. K&K is a good restaurant in this town (apart from goulash and somloi galuska, they serve a delicious Armenian soup). Just opposite this restaurant there is a cake shop.

Gheorgheni isn't a city for its "architecture," but rather: - A base for trips through the Carpathians - Nature + silence + mountain scenery - Ideal if you have a car and are ready to explore Here is a very short list of places easy reachable by car we have visited with our child: Cheile Bicazului, Lacul Roșu, Thermal water waterfall and "Bob - Alpine Coaster" in Toplita Grota Urșilor in Borsec, "Salt Mountain" and "Lacu Ursu" in Sovata. Waterfall Vărșag And you can find many other places nearby (40km away to Gheorgheni). Amazing nature!

Gheorgheni is a small city, with a fortified church and nice...

Gheorgheni is a small city, with a fortified church and nice streets, but not more than 3 hours are necessary for visiting it. Even so, it is very well placed, at a reasonable distance from Rosu Lake, Bobsleigh track Lacul Rosu and Bicazului Gorges.

We used our stay for a visit to the Lacul Rosu and the Bizac Gorge. There is a little walk around the lake, which is a way of escaping the mass of tourist visiting the place in summer. The Bizac Gorge is really outstanding, despite the issue that you can basically only drive through by car. The road it to small for a safe way, yet there are several places to stop and enjoy the views.

We really enjoyed our stay here! We liked the apartments, modern and spacious. Our daughter had a professional horseback riding lesson with a very nice instructor lady, which was quite an experience for her. Breakfast was good! The staff is polite and friendly. Although they do not have a restaurant in the building, you can order lunch or dinner from the other hotel. The pool is clean and warm, not very crowded. The surrounding atmosphere is peaceful, you can visit the stables and walk around the property.

Travelling as a family with 6 adults and 3 children we had booked 3 budget double rooms and 1 deluxe double room. On arrival, we were shown around and given 3 deluxe double rooms, which better suited our group. The rooms were all large, comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. The hotel has it's own restaurant, but being in central Gheorgheni, there were several options available within a short walk.

Excellent hotel, only one small problem is that the beds are on the second floor of the room which is a bit difficult with the kids because they can fall down the stairs. But the room is perfectly clean
