Felt completely like our own home. The host went above and beyond for us and made our stay the best we've had in a long time. Everything was as in the pictures on booking.com. The rooms and the bathrooms were very clean and kept warm at night (cold snap in early April). The breakfast was tasty and the view of the Rtanj breathtaking. We will definitely come back.

It is a very interesting mountain.

It is a very interesting mountain. Locals believe it is filled with strong, almost mystical energy. Whether there was ever truly a pyramid here or not is not so important for those who simply enjoy nature. In the end, all mountains have their own kind of magic, and this one is no exception—enjoy the beech and fir forests, the birds, and the living presence of this remarkable landscape. The well-known Rtanj tea is made from the plant Satureja kitaibelii or Satureja montana. Locals also sell “magical” plants such as raskovnik and raščinka. These plants are deeply rooted in Slavic mythology, especially raskovnik. Don’t overthink what kind of plant it actually is—simply enjoy its mythological and magical symbolism. The climb to the peak of Šiljak is well known, and there are also unusual, somewhat esoteric stories about the Minh family, who allegedly operated a coal mine here in the 1930s. An unusual note: from time to time, you may get the impression that the entire mountain is alive and somehow communicating with you.

The nature is stunning!

The nature is stunning! Rtanj mountain looks amazing and we had a very good time walking on the top of the mountain - Šiljak. In the nearby you can visit Sokobanja (Sokograd), some of the beautiful waterfalls, Krivi vir, Grza and many more natural attractions.

There are many options on Rtanj, what to visit.

There are many options on Rtanj, what to visit. It is peacefull and ideal for nature lovers and for getaway from everyday's noice and buzz. Air is clean, you can breathe deeply. Food is domestic and traditional (you could never eat that type, quality and amount of food for that low price in any other town in Serbia). People there are open-minded. Everyone comes for their own reason. During the winter it isn't crowded, so you can enjoy in silence. There are many energetic places. Even if you are traveling by yourself, you will meet likeminded people and will never be alone. :)
