This was out first visit to this area and it is just beautiful. Drove to Big Sur, went to Pebble Beach. Visited Folktalk Winery and Mission Ranch which this was my favorite part of our trip. Carmel was gloomy this time of year which i did not expect and very chilly in August.

If you go to Carmel the Comfort Inn is such a nice cottage...
If you go to Carmel the Comfort Inn is such a nice cottage style hotel. We really enjoyed the staff, room and food. Parking is a bit tight but made it work. The beach and downtown Carmel is super close. Super fun vacation with my wife celebrating our 20th Anniversary.

Carmel by the Sea was exactly what we were looking for-...
Carmel by the Sea was exactly what we were looking for- walkable, friendly, lots to see and do! Some of the streets can be steep but we walked everywhere or used Uber for some further trips (point Lobos & the Mission) and public transportation (bus) to Monterey! Carmel got busier on the weekend but overall was fairly quiet especially early mornings and at night. In late April, the temp never got above 63 degrees F, but we enjoyed walking along the beach. The town has lots of beautiful flowers, fairytale cottages, art galleries, and hidden passageways!

Favorite spot was Point Lobos State Natural Reserve.
Favorite spot was Point Lobos State Natural Reserve. Recommend Garland Ranch Regional Park for hiking (especially steeper trails with big views).
Nearby Pacific Grove is great for coastal trails like Asilomar Trail and near Lovers Point Park.

It’s a nice getaway.
It’s a nice getaway. It’s not too far from where we live, but it feels like you have gone away. Carmel has many options for dining and shopping. It is dog friendly. Golfing is not too far away. The beach is fabulous.

Very dog friendly and extremely walkable. Posh stores as well as kitchy surf shops and a lovely pet toys/stuff store. Nice selection of restaurants but overall crazy expensive. One of the most beautiful towns in California.

We loved the excellent location in the heart of Carmel, close to many great restaurants and boutique shops. The room was spacious and well-equipped, with very comfortable beds and a cozy sitting area by the fireplace. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We also really enjoyed the happy hour with local wine and a selection of tasty snacks – a lovely extra!

Lovely, small, 2-storey inn-style hotel with open balcony access to all rooms. The location is excellent right in the town of Carmel-by-Sea. Friendly welcome by the owner. Family room was spotless, modern and comfortable.

The hotel's location is amazing. It's easy to walk to the beach. The hotel is Old Charm for Carmel with wonderful staff. There are so many places to eat here, but the hotel is also great. It has an amazing happy hour.
