Very well appointed home. We were able to enjoy a movie in very comfortable recliners.

Columbus is a small but welcoming village on the border with Mexico, and loaded with history! Take in the story of the Pancho Villa raid of 1916 at the excellent Pancho Villa State Park and the Railroad Museum, as well as at various historical displays around town, easily walkable along Broadway and Main. We ate at Borderland Cafe for dinner (try the Pancho Villa burger with New Mexico green chili), though they close at 6 p.m., and Cafe Plaza for breakfast (chilaquiles, burritos). Hole in the Wall Getaway B&B owner Big Addison offers both guided and self-guided, 12-stop tours of the town, tracing the Villa raid. The Pink Store across the border in Puerto Palomas, Mexico, is a large, colorful restaurant and shopping destination. Just park on the Columbus side and walk across.

Columbus is a small burg, peaceful, and slow paced for a change. It's proximity to a small, peaceful Mexican border town (Palomas) with several services is very quick and easy. You can park on the US side and features an easy short walk into Mexico, or you can drive in; (and your US driver license is all the documentation you will need when you return- easy!)

Columbus is a place full of history and nice to visit and explore the outdoors or travel into Mexico. The second Saturday in March is our Cabalgata Binacional weekend come and share our culture, learn about our history and have a good time. Don't let the Hole in the Wall place decide whether you are coming or not! Bring a friend or come make new ones!
