Unreal facilities. Great bar. Staff were great. The location was tucked away in the wilderness for those looking for that kind of experience.

Groveland is about 30 minutes outside the entrance to Yosemite and about an hour from Yosemite Lodge in the main part of the valley. Since lodging in the park is pretty expensive (unless you are tent camping or have an RV), Groveland is a convenient location to stay either just before or after visiting the park. Multiple lodging and restaurant options w/ varying price range.

Groveland is a small mountain town with just enough of the needed facilities. A well supplied grocery store, several good restaurants, a unique old saloon, vintage Gold Rush era downtown buildings and most important - an ice cream shop!!! Easy drive to Yosemite Park gate. Fun side trip to see Hetch Hetchy Reservoir and learn its history. Great ribs at the Iron Door Saloon and wonderful pizza at Two Guys Pizza. We'll come again.

Lovely dinner at Pines Country Club Restaurant and lunch at the oldest saloon. We should have stayed longer than 2 nights to visit Yosemite, there was so much see. No petrol station in Groveland but a large EV station.

It's a cute little town.

It's a cute little town. Since it was before Memorial Day not everything was open. But we were there to visit Yosemite so it wasn't a problem. It's about a half hour's drive to the park.

A tiny town with a very Western look. Limited choice but the dining options are reliable and good - saloon ("California's oldest"), Mexican, pizza, and a pub. Very convenient if you want to stay near Yosemite NP.

The lovely family at the Berkshire Inn made our three days and nights there just perfect. The rooms are comfy, the breakfast is delicious, and the town has fun restaurants and a grocery store. With Yosemite in driving distance it was perfect for our three days exploring the park.

Excellent! We loved our stay at the Berkshire Inn the hosts are the loveliest people we have encountered in California. The room was big, the bed so comfy and smelled like fresh laundry. The views are gorgeous, home made breakfast was delicious and it’s so peaceful. Perfect place to stay if you are going to Yosemite pr just passing by while leaving or entering the park.

We love the location and the room. Please note, the property is outside of the main Yosemite Park and is about 40 min away by car. We didn't mind. The property is quite near the Hetch Hetchy reservoir. Only 1 % of the park visitors make it to the reservoir. We took advantage of the nearness and visited the reservoir one late afternoon.

Rarely do I take the time to review properties but we loved Hotel Charlotte! The owners were so kind, helpful and welcoming. A lovely, historic, and genuine hotel. Close to Yosemite and Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. Thoroughly enjoyed drinks over at the Iron Door Saloon talking to locals too. Excellent value for money!
