We love coming to the Idaho City 100 motorcycle race every year. This year we were treated rudely at most of the local business we tried to support except the gas station & grocery store. The gas station & the grocery store were always friendly and helpful. The ice cream store both times seemed put out and rude we wanted ice cream. The Gold Mine restaurant never had enough help we got ill from eating there. They were so slow like they didn't want to help you. Trudy's our steaks and mashed potatoes were cool/cold. Everything was closed Sunday after the race. The Goldmine was open but only 2 employees we were told it would be 1.5 hours. You would think after a bad winter they would be happy for business from such a large annual event and get extra staffing to keep up. We felt very unwanted and in the way. Might just bring our trailer next time like we used to and cook our own food again. Very disappointing this year.

The Springs (hot springs pool and tubs) were great! Just a short trip from Boise. Idaho City definitely has the feel of an old mountain mining town. The museum buildings on Montgomery St. are interesting. Residents are friendly and helpful!
