The manager Angie was delightful & accommodating, I felt like I had known her for years. The dock and fire pit area were a welcome surprise. I spent every morning of my stay sitting on the dock drinking my coffee and enjoying the stunning view of the lake and mountains. If I find myself in Lakeside in the future I will absolutely stay at The Sunrise Vista Inn!

Great stay on a roadtrip! Close to West Glacier National Park. The staff was very friendly, check-in one hour earlier wasn't a problem at all. Warm breakfast, everything's clean. Great value. We loved our stay.

This is a beautifully designed cabin with everything you could need for a great stay. It's quiet, clean and thoughtfully appointed. We really appreciated the welcome snack basket and there were even seasonings for grilling, and an extensive coffee bar. After eating out a few days we had everything we needed to cook for ourselves. If you do find yourself relaxing on the couch, there is every streaming app imaginable, which we appreciated during our down time. The location is perfect and there's a gorgeous view of the lake. Lisa is a great hostess and has thought of everything! We will be back! 10/10

Lakeside is overrun with summer visitors for three months, then has to survive for nine months with not a lot of tourist traffic. As a result, tourist-oriented businesses seem to struggle. Restaurants are a case in point: the one restaurant with a great location has a mediocre kitchen and has a terrible time recruiting and keeping staff, so the meals are unsatisfactory and extremely slow, and staff never seem to know what they're doing. It's a great spot to go for a beverage and a snack, but not for dinner. Until last year, there was one good restaurant for breakfast and lunch. But this year it's been converted into yet another bar/casino (just another one of several). For breakfast you either go to the coffee place (which serves the pastries and quick-serve items you might expect), or drive five miles to Somers. There is little to choose from for a place to stay. There are expensive luxury cabins available, and expensive VRBO type places, but no normal hotel, and only one actual motel, which is clean and functional but desperately needs cosmetic updating, and only has 8 rooms. When Lakeside is crowded, as it always is on summer holiday weekends, it's unbearable. Traffic is snarled, there are lineups everywhere, and it's extremely unpleasant. Verdict: it's a beautiful bay on a beautiful lake, but during the summer you will find it crowded, unpleasant, and the restaurants overwhelmed. During the off season it's a great spot to spend some time.

We are from Montana and we were in town for a wedding.

We are from Montana and we were in town for a wedding. We only stayed one night because we couldn't wait to get home to shower and wash our clothes. Unfortunately, the room had a strong unpleasant odor, the shower drained very slowly and backed up while my husband was using it, and the mattress was extremely uncomfortable—it felt more like sleeping directly on a box spring because the springs were so noticeable. The lake area is beautiful, and we would have liked to spend more time there. However, the rooms are very outdated, the building appears run-down, and the property is located right next to the highway. The listing photos are also misleading. They make it appear as though there are unobstructed lake views, but there is actually a large house between the rooms and the lake, and reaching the lake requires walking down a fairly steep path. We briefly spoke with the owner during check-in while she was on the phone, so our interaction was limited. My husband and I decided to leave this review because we would have been especially disappointed if we had traveled from out of state expecting a quaint Montana lakeside getaway for several nights. We hope this review helps future guests have realistic expectations before booking.
