Beautiful hotel perfectly situated to enjoy the town. The rooms and baths are huge, clean, and very tastefully decorated. For me, it was an unexpected, oh wow, experience. Parking is on the street and was no issue. There are plenty of spaces and no crime in the area. The price is amazing. The one potential issue would be the lack of an elevator. If the first floor is booked, you'll have to take the gorgeous stairs. Extra points, a lot of extra points, for providing a real coffee pot with fresh ground coffee that doesn't come in a plastic bag and big porcelain mugs to drink it from.

Fantastic location overlooking the Ohio River, and less than a minute from historic Madison. Quaint facilities, well maintained and spotlessly clean! Lovely, helpful staff, personable proprietor/barkeep. Great deck where guests enjoy each other’s company, good drinks, great live music, and river barges sailing by under the bridge to Kentucky. Just a great, great place!

Very scenic town. Many things to see.

Very scenic town. Many things to see. We toured the Lanier Mansion. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The city has many old homes. I enjoyed a mint juilip ice tea from The Roaster, 🐓. The town is easy to get around. Clifty Falls State Park has great trails.

We love Madison!

We love Madison! So many beautiful homes with character and charm. The riverfront is amazing ! Cute shops and nice restaurants all within walking distance. We are looking forward to returning soon! Went to the Lanier house tour which we really enjoyed. Too, the Lanthier winery was the best! Dennis was so nice and knowledgeable about wine. Mad,Love Eat and Drink restaurant had delicious food and The Roaster coffee shop was definitely worth a visit for coffee and a breakfast sandwich. Madison is a treasure for Indiana!

If you want to experience a truly traditional American small town, Madison is a great choice. It has an interesting historic downtown, beautiful river scenery, and a lively Main Street filled with plenty of dining options —and also in the northern part—. It’s also a perfect base for day trips to Louisville, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and other cities, since it sits roughly at an equal distance from all of them. And don’t miss the chance to enjoy a drive along the Ohio River.

Very well preserved historic river town. Very walkable.

Very well preserved historic river town. Very walkable. Beautiful restored homes big and small, no two are the same. Read up on the history of the town's Broadway Fountain. Fantastic Christmas lights displays all around town (we visited in early December). Great river walk. Quite a few dining choices cover most tastes and cost. From Main Street, drive a short distance on IN-7 North to see Hanging Rock. And, don't miss Clifty Falls state park right next to Madison.

Madison is a wonderful old town that always has something going on. We have traveled from New York state for events and enjoyed them. Definitely check their calendar and participate in some of the events. You won't be sorry.

This is the epitome of a Hallmark town.

This is the epitome of a Hallmark town. The historic buildings are absolutely charming. Everything downtown is a locally owned small business, and they take pride in their shops. There are several boutique hotels and B&Bs within walking distance to everything. The restaurants are filled with locals, so you know the food is fantastic! There are places for every budget, so you can have an affordable time as well as a good time.
