Definitely worth the stay, a hidden accommodation gem in the Mendocino / Fort Bragg area. The rooms are modern and clean, the bed was very comfortable, good powerful shower and bathroom facilities. Netflix available if wanted in your room TV. The gardens are manicured overlooking an exceptional coastal view. Upon arrival the host Susan was so nice, pleasant and welcoming with a complimentary glass of wine offered if you wished. The breakfast was fantastic served by the morning hosts and on site chef so accommodating and helpful. Relatively close to vineyards if visiting and Glass Beach in Fort Bragg (10 mins away) with brilliant drives through Redwood National Park close. Will be advising friends and family to stay here.

It was a perfect spot for us to stop for the night. Cabin was very cozy, bed was extremely comfortable. Nice to have a small kitchen, off the road so it was very quiet and part of a nice little complex. We were traveling with our dog, had a small little yard for him to utilize so everything was perfect

Ian, the owner, was very friendly and inviting. He took the time to tell us about the town, where to go for a great meal, and music. The breakfast delivered to our room was wonderful. Fresh fruit and bread pudding! Excellent coffee!! My recommendation for a fine dining experience is The Ledford House, (NOT Luna T., ugh), which is about a 15 minute drive south of Mendocino in Albion. Get there in time for the sunset when EVERYONE just stops and watches the sun slip down. Spectacular!! The food was fabulous, and soooo cheap compared to home. I recommend the duck . . . To die for. A Bucket List experience!

Mendocino has miles of headland trails with views only...

Mendocino has miles of headland trails with views only nature can provide. The people are so friendly. We ate at Patterson's for two of our four nights and it was delicious and reasonably priced. From Mendocino it is a short drive to several State Parks where you can enjoy leisurely hikes is the redwood and fern forests.

Pretty town beautiful old buildings we went several times in the past but there is now a feeling of ghost town that is kind of depressing . Gas close to 10 dollars a gallon as they have to truck it in , just a few stores open , a very expensive grocery store and few places to eat . A 30 dollar burger would be ok if it had been good . Lots of store fronts for sale and houses for sale . A little sad .

Get ready for a hair raising drive if you aren’t accustomed to driving on windy roads. The easiest way in off of Highway 1 is Highway 128 and it is breathtaking but very windy. But this is what makes Mendocino so special and preserved its timeless ways. You want an ocean hit with a mellow vibe then Mendocino is for you.

Wonderful place to relax and reinvigorate!

Wonderful place to relax and reinvigorate! Great walking town with easy access to the wild coast. High surf was particularly exciting. We stayed at the Headlands Inn. A beautiful old house that was well appointed, very clean and lovely staff. The breakfast was wonderful, accompanied by excellent coffee. We had a great dinner at Luna Trattoria after a nice aperitif and oysters at the McCallam House. A too short stay, but we enjoyed a beautiful drive home down Highway 1. The views are well worth the time, if you have it.

The little town is absolutely what you wish for when...

The little town is absolutely what you wish for when traveling! So many nice people helping us find restaurants, and wineries nearby. The flowers are on steroids...so so beautiful, and everywhere! The town is truly a wonderland!

Walking the headlands, broiling waters, waves, spouts, awesome nature. Walked perimeter of town about five miles along the bluffs to highway and back. Town has charming shops, museums, well restored19th century architecture, very good restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream parlors. Mendocino Hotel bar and restaurant closed for renovations. Mendocino Cafe is excellent! Highway 1 has breath-taking world class views; arriving at charming Mendocino is no disappointment. A historical place located on beautiful coast. More than fifty movies and TV shows were made in this town, on this street, on the coast meadows. The hotel, with over hundred years of history, is truly a treasure. Its antique furniture and the historical photos and paintings take people back. It is sad that property has been decaying for some time and is not in good shape now. But renovation and restoration will begin later this year under new ownership. Something to look forward to.
