great friendly little town. Can be noisy on weekends down on the strip due to vehicles displaying their loud exhausts. Lots of beautiful restored classic cars. Food is okay when you find local hole in the wall dives vs food chain places.

This town still looks and feels like it did decades ago.

This town still looks and feels like it did decades ago. This has its good side, but also it's bad side. While many restaurants and hotels have moved to this area, there hasn't been any real progress in the quality of life here. The Southside especially, is run-down and neglected, that you want to avoid it. There no family activities, and the UFO museum is so fake, it's lame. The only decent attraction sits over 44 miles away, at Carlsbad Caverns National Park, but once you've been there done that, there's not much more to do. There are casinos in Ruidoso, 70 miles away, or you can enjoy the local food, expensive burritos, menudo (mostly on weekends), or the other Mexican food at the various restaurants here. So, you'll be bored to death, and you'll probably gain weight. There is basically no reliable public transportation, so you're forced to pay the high prices for a rental car. Some of my favorite spots to eat are: La gran Victioria at 4th avenue and Richardson, Burritos and more, with locations on N. MAIN and also on S. Richardson. Los Novillos, La Salsa (at the mall), and Martin's Capitol Cafe are the other only options I typically use when in town to visit family and friends.

Town was a nice stop over-enjoyed the cheesy UFO museum especially the research library-NM military institute nightly retreat and march to chow hall was great to see also recommend their museum-wish i had time to visit Walker warbird display,restaurant quality was great

Came for the UFO Festival and it seemed less than previous...

Came for the UFO Festival and it seemed less than previous visits. Not many speakers at UFO Museum and activities were scheduled strange. Drone show on July 3rd then no fireworks on the July 4th. Most activity was on Saturday July 5th (pet costume, people costume, parade) and nothing on Sunday June 6th so left a day early. You can only go through the stores and vendors so many times especially in near 100-degree temperatures. People costume event held at noon with very little shade.

There are so many little tourist attractions to draw your...

There are so many little tourist attractions to draw your attention and things to do around the community we've already stated we will come back and stay longer to explore more of them. Downtown is easily walkable with lots of little novelty shops and little businesses perfect to take your kids into

Had been looking forward to Roswell for a long time and it was not what I expected. Sadly, I was disappointed. All of the attractions,museums, closed really early, 5:00 PM. We went to the Roswell Museum accidentally, looking for the UFO museum, but was a happy accident. There is so much history in Roswell, we were especially interested in the developments of rockets and tech. Atlas Obscura advertised the McDonalds that is shaped like UFO and lights up. Restaurant was not lit up and it was disappointing. Was all of the alien/UFO stuff taken back by the city? Feels like it. If I knew this would have not stayed the night in town, just a stop for a meal.

I've stayed at Baymont by Wyndham and several cities. Roswell New Mexico is by far above and beyond all others. We are going to stay at a different hotel at one point but we went to Roswell to stay at the Baymont because it is absolute best. It is a hotel. I couldn't even tell the difference between our room and a room at the Marriott and a huge city. I would recommend this hotel to anyone! And the staff was beyond anything I could ever have expected. The best discounts day I have ever been to, and I travel a bit.

the lady who ran it was amazing, friendly and helpful, had a water pressure issue and she was fixing it before we went to let her know, within a few minutes pressure was back to normal, very pro-active, which is rare. room was a good size, comfortable and plenty of parking directly outside the room. good location, with pool aswell.

A big thank you to the blonde girl at the evening reception! We arrived in Roswell after a long journey and first checked into Motel 6, which we had to leave immediately due to its terrible condition. The girl checked us in and truly made us feel welcome! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Everything was perfect—very clean! :)
