San Rafael is easy to navigate and offers beautiful views.
San Rafael is easy to navigate and offers beautiful views. I was there for a yoga and meditation retreat so didn’t explore too much. I did discover the San Francisco Theological Society where my event was in San Anselmo. It’s a beautiful 14-acre sight.
If my trip had been longer I would have gone to Point Reyes to catch some whales, so to speak, and to Mill Valley which is close and my dream location for a second home. San Rafael is very close to San Francisco, as well.

San Rafael is close to so much, if you want hiking, being outdoors, shopping and views of SF. We even explored some of the quaint towns due west...I've been in the Bay so many years and I never knew those towns existed. Check them out!

Ate dinner at Il Davida for Italian.
Ate dinner at Il Davida for Italian. The service was great and the food was better. Enjoyed our evening immensely. The dessert was the icing on the whole meal.
Another evening we went to a local Mexican Restaurant
Sabor a Mexico. Authentic and delicious.

Small and quiet town with a shortish main street with a great bakery (Bordenave's). Enough cafes and restaurants to choose from. Lovely Mission, and cute shop which unfortunately has limited opening hours. Great location for nearby hikes.

San Rafael is a great base for exploring West Marin and the Wine Country with fabulous restaurants, and great local scenery. It has a lovely downtown. Don't overlook the neighboring communities and towns. Don't miss the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Civic Center.

Sausalito ..Lots of fun places to go shop, eat and sight see.
Here on a vacation with my daughter to visit friends.
It is a good central and safe location.
Would not stay at Embassy Suites again! It was the only negative in the entire trip.

This was a real treat. The property is maintained so well. Everything is in good shape, the rooms are ample and comfortable and the bathroom facilities are excellent. It is very well located just off the freeway and while it looks less stellar than nearby hotels on the same block on the outside, the inside is great! Also, parking is ample and convenient and the manager is very friendly and helpful. It was extremely good value for the money.
