We arrived at the property under difficult circumstances...
We arrived at the property under difficult circumstances that immediately set a negative tone for our stay. We had originally requested early check-in, but were not informed until the morning of arrival that it would not be possible. This left us, with children, scrambling to make last-minute arrangements in 100° weather.
When we finally arrived at the property, it was completely dark outside with no exterior lighting, making it difficult and unsafe to enter using the door code. The walkway to the entrance was also overgrown, leaving very little usable space on the sidewalk.
Once inside, we encountered multiple maintenance and safety issues. Several door knobs were loose or came off entirely during our stay. There was also no running water at times, which significantly impacted our ability to use the home normally. We had to purchase water just to flush toilets, and our family was unable to properly shower or wash up for most of the stay. These issues occurred repeatedly throughout the weekend.
In addition, we noticed cleanliness concerns, including unusual brown marks on the bathroom wall, which raised concerns about how thoroughly the property had been cleaned. We also observed bugs inside the home.
Overall, the property did not meet basic standards of safety, cleanliness, or functionality, and these issues significantly affected our stay and our family’s comfort.
Which is too bad because we had a wonderful time with relatives and there’s quite a few fun activities to do in the area if we had more time

Embassy Suites by Hilton Southbend
is perfect place to be! From hotels to restaurant to entertainment is very accessible just walking distance.

Traffic was not bad-easy to navigate streets-still hate...
Traffic was not bad-easy to navigate streets-still hate roundabouts , though . Plenty of restaurants to choose from . Menards was well stocked and friendly . Walmart on south end of town was disappointing . Very impressive landscaping all over town and university was appreciated . Nice town ! Hope to return for a Notre Dame football game in future .

alot of south bend is really nice to see.
alot of south bend is really nice to see. Of course Notre Dame is spectacular, otherwise there are really nice parks, even cemeteries and memorial parks are lovely to see and walk through. There seems to be a good amount of civic pride. The airport is really easy to access and the rental car agency (enterprise in this case) was easy to use and had good cars. There are lots of shops, restaurants etc... many are more local kind of places, some are well known chains. There is a minor league baseball team there. It is within easy driving to Michigan beaches and parks on the lake. I would visit again..

I was only there overnight, since I was just passing through. But I had to visit an Urgent Care, and that was an experience I will NEVER forget. It was the fastest, most efficient doctor's visit I've EVER had. It was at rush hour on a Wednesday, and I was expecting horrendous wait times and difficulty getting a prescription, since I didn't live in the area. The prescription was ready for me at CVS by the time I arrived at their window less than 10 minutes after seeing the doctor. I visited Wellnow, and the whole thing couldn't have been easier. There were lots of restaurants to choose from on the strip where the hotels were. That was convenient.

it was wonderful the first night me and my 4 yr old princess...
it was wonderful the first night me and my 4 yr old princess stayed alone and she made a new friend at the swimming pool next day my husband joined us we had a wonderful time except dinner at Texas Road house was terrible the service was bad and my hubby couldn't even eat his meal it was so salty.

We stay in a lot of hotels. This was clean and had a great gym as well. I would say the only disappointment was the breakfast. They had a lot of options but some of it was not edible. With that being said we made due. Still a great stay. Clean, spacious room with comfortable beds.

Very beautiful vintage large residential house, in outstanding condition with gorgeous wood floors and trim. Best lodging for the price. Far exceeded any expectation. Highly recommended, and checking in was super simple.

Great location for Notre Dame but a little out of South Bend so you'd need a car. Small Starbucks on site. Bar in reception was busy & well stocked.

Everything about this stay was wonderful, from the hotel staff, to Rohr's and the smallest of details in the newly renovated room. Also, staying right on campus is unbeatable.
