Cassandra, Amanda, and Alan make a great team of hosts who are excited to share their passions and talents with guests. Cassandra, a mother of five, manages much of the day to day communication and bookings. Amanda who lives very close is always available in a pinch and recommends the best places for food and entertainment. Alan, the artist, created the pieces you see in our spaces and is also a great handyman when something needs to be fixed.

Art and Lodging operates several spaces along the historic area of West Washington Street. Each space has been carefully and tastefully designed by artists and filled with one of a kind artwork. Our four bedroom guest house offers ample living space, a fully stocked kitchen, three full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms. The Studebaker Carriage house has two private units each equipped with fully stocked kitchens and full bathrooms. The largest private unit we offer is the exquisite Studebaker One Bedroom Suite which includes a fully stocked kitchen, wash and dryer, a full bathroom, and a huge living space with a large screen TV. All of spaces are great for short or long term stays for recreational visits to South Bend or work trips (every accommodation has high speed internet and a quiet work area for those wishing to telecommute). Parking is close, safe, and easy at all of our locations.

The Near West Side neighborhood is a diverse, historic neighborhood and one of the oldest in South Bend. The neighborhood has everything from cozy bungalows to sprawling mansions and friendly neighbors from all walks of life. Within minutes of walking distance are some beautiful places, including: The Oliver Mansion, a 38-room Victorian house, the Studebaker National Museum and The History Museum, the K.C. De Rhodes House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and Tippecanoe Place, Clem Studebaker's historic mansion and restaurant, and the Civil Rights Heritage Center. Guests will also enjoy many local dining establishments within walking distance. Be sure to checkout Notre Dame while in the area! We are a quick 10-15 minute drive to campus.
