Our 3 nights at Makongo was an experience of a lifetime. From seeing amazing wildlife from our front porch, the sweeping views over the reserve from our hilltop setting, the incredible game drives with our knowledgeable guide, and the personal attention from lodge staff who strived to ensure that our experience was perfect, we could not have asked for more.

The place is 8 km from all Kings Palaces, a great place next...

The place is 8 km from all Kings Palaces, a great place next to the Zulu King Palaces, it is also best if you are catholic as it's close to the Marian Shrine for Catholics. Great mountains for hiking. Old layback neighborhood with reserved people and very safe. People are helpful and lovely. We had a braai in the property.its best to bring your cooked food from town and warm it as shops are far in town. Please avoid taking route in the north from pongola that won't take you to town first as roads have gravel.
