We were travelling from Dbn to CPT, booked the place for our halfway stop. Wow what can I say. The beds were so comfortable, the shower was clean. We felt so refreshed the next morning. Thank you!

A little gem of history tucked away in the karoo. We detoured an extra 2 hours on our road trip just to include this stop and were not disappointed. We arrived to a romantic candle lit dinner and warm welcoming hosts. Our room was spacious, and the whole house has charm like a scene out of Pride and Prejudice!

Liked the swimming pool and the outside braai area and garden. Next time we'll make better use of it instead of dining out. Rooms were clean and comfortable, with a small fridge, coffee/tea station, microwave and en suite bathroom. Safety and peacefulness

There is nothing at Celtis Lodge that I didn't like. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are well appointed and clean, it is peaceful and quiet and the food at the restaurant is amazing. They even had a power point to connect my caravan for the overnight stay and they have a charging point for EV's.

Location, ending the day while listening to the Guinea fowl going to bed and Karoo evening sounds, while braaiing a nice Karoo lamb chop on a wood fire was well worth the stay. Do request the braaipak, nice lamb chops, fresh salad, and fresh bread rolls are really good. The owner and her kids were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful.

I love the gardens and how neat the place and rooms are.

I love the gardens and how neat the place and rooms are. The rooms are extremely spacious and has everything you need, the staff is helpful and very friendly. They have braai facilities which is neat and just perfect for an evening braai. I over all enjoyed the whole stay.

Middelburg is a typical small Karoo town and a good overnight stop if you are travelling to the Garden Route. The town is quiet and safe, and the people are friendly, helpful and eager to share knowledge of the town and surrounding area.

The place itself is very peaceful.

The place itself is very peaceful. The quietness gives you time to clear your mind and just relax. The fact that there is remote controlled gates it a big plus, because no one can just enter the premises without a key.

The annual 'Karoo Winter Wool Festival' brought us to Middelburg, and was well-worth attending. The Karoo landscape is absolutely beautiful. The town of Middelburg, like many towns in South Africa, is in need of care, but the people are warm and friendly. Nieu-Bethesda and it's well-known Owl House is also just an hour's drive away.

Middelburg is a very small and old town .

Middelburg is a very small and old town . There are no much to visit . Unless you're there to visit a family member or for work , I will suggest that you choose another town. Otherwise if you want to be there for couple days , I recommend you to choose Tortelduif cottage at 41 church street. It is one of the best accomodation you could find and the hosts are great.
