The Val d'Orcia landscape is as beautiful as everyone says, and Villa San Sanino is positioned to make the most of it — wonderful views, and the pool was a real pleasure. This is a family-run place, and it shows in the best way. Bianca welcomed us warmly, served all of our meals, and wrote out a list of nearby restaurants and sights, every one conveniently located and worth the trip. Her brother Giacomo was just as helpful, coordinating our reservations and pointing us toward wonderful local restaurants and wineries. The food, cooked by their mother, was some of the best we had anywhere in Italy, and they kept a lovely selection of wines available on the property. The villa itself was restored by their father, an engineer, and you can feel it — the work was clearly done by someone who knew what he was doing, yet it has kept its authentic, historic charm. Throughout our stay it was wonderfully easy to reach them on WhatsApp — to order a drink by the pool, ask about the food, or anything else. They even did some laundry for us quickly and without fuss, which was a real gift halfway through a two-week trip. What we appreciated most: we didn't want to feel underfoot, and we didn't want a big, crowded resort — this was the perfect alternative. Everything was easy, and it was easy to relax and simply enjoy being here. We can't recommend it highly enough.

I loved everything! Perfect Tuscan getaway.

Located in a hilltop town with about 400 residents, Montisi is a beautiful place, as is La Romita, about 20 minutes drive from Sinalunga, a town that has everything you need. We have stayed at La Romita twice m, once for a week, and loved it both times. As you drive into Montisi, La Romita is one of the first places you will see on your left with an iron gate and free parking, and a pool in summer, you don’t have to drive far into the tiny car. The people are very friendly and the views of ancient, well cared for buildings in the town, the olive trees, and the villas scattered on the hills around it are wonderful. Their breakfasts served 8:00-10:00 are also excellent!! Our room with attached bathroom was also fabulous! Get the real taste of Italy here!

We had a wonderful experience during our stay. Marta and Mauro were incredibly hospitable and their property is absolutely beatiful. Views outside of the apartments are amazing. I highly recommend the activites they offer - we did pasta making and truffle hunting along with a wine tasting. All were a lot of fun and educational as well. Their wines were delicious as was Mauro's cooking. It was the best and most creative food we had during our time in Italy. Not only were they very attentive hosts, but also were great engaging my son in the activities and providing recommendations for other local attractions.

The entire place breathes history. It's a beautiful location with an amazing story. The room was spacious and newly renovated. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and the sheets and towels impeccable.

The villa and the gardens on the property were beautiful and well-maintained. Definitely a welcome escape from the city.

This property is the real deal! If you want an authentic, somewhat rustic, but entirely comfortable Tuscan experience at a very reasonable rate, look no further. The property is exceedingly charming. The staff super friendly. The location excellent for day trips to nearby hilltowns.

Our host, Carlotta, was exceptional. She arranged a wine tasting at her family run winery as well as a cooking class in our apartment. Both were amusing and a delight. The unit had everything needed including a well furnished kitchen. We were on an extended trip and had access to do laundry and she even had bottles of wine you could pick up for dinner in your apartment. We loved everything about our stay and it was convenient for some great small town day trips. Visit the towns of Foiana and Cortona, they are gorgeous.
