We had a wonderful stay here. The place is beautiful — clean, tasteful, and surrounded by rice fields and stunning nature. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and they prepared delicious, generous meals for us. Everything feels new and very well cared for. It’s also conveniently located close to the Mini World’s End viewpoint. The only small downside was that the Wi-Fi wasn’t always stable, but that felt insignificant compared to the comfort and beauty of the place.

The super friendly and very communicative owner gave good tips for hiking and showed us a nice waterfall nearby. Our highlight was that he organized a night-out in the village, showing us around the rice fields and the temple and serving us amazing local food in the village in the traditional way. If you are looking for a great local experience in the nature you came to the right place!

We stayed at Royal Mountain Edge from September 13th to 14th, booking a double room. Our experience was truly remarkable. During our short stay, we joined the Kotagaga Waterfall hike, took part in the Garden-to-Kitchen experience, relaxed by the beautiful infinity pool, enjoyed a cozy BBQ night, and ended with a delicious traditional Sri Lankan breakfast. The accommodation is comfortable, though quite basic — but honestly, that’s all you need to connect with the beauty of nature. All essential facilities are available: Wi-Fi, electricity, and hot water. The simplicity of the stay only makes the surrounding mountains feel even more special. If you’re looking for a place where you can slow down, breathe fresh air, and be close to nature, this is the perfect escape. Footnote: Remember to bring cash for your extra expenses.

It's a superb place. Really calming and beautiful environment. It was built in a totally different concept than other accommodations I stayed. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Has all the facilities tv,wifi kitchen and etc. I mostly like the concept and beautiful environment it was build on. And uncle and aunty who look after the place are really nice and i have great respect for their superb hospitality. They treated us like family unlike guests.

Perched high on the hill it provides an excellent vantage point to watch the clouds play with the hills. The host Eric is diligent and responsive. The caretakers are friendly and deliver delicious local food. And the friendly watch dog is an enjoyable companion. The facilities are comfortable and clean, and the wifi is strong. The cottage and food are a great value for the money asked. Unique opportunity to feel alone without sacrificing.
