The location was exceptional. Agnes's home is about an easy 2-block walk to cafes, restaurants, gift shops, park (fantastic for soaking up the loveliness of Lyon, and PEOPLE WATCHING!!!) . The room itself is much more than a room, it's huge with ensuite bath. Agnes has a fantastic decorating style, very chic and elegant with an emphasis on comfort. There is also an adjoining living area that we were welcome to use (shared with Agnes and family), but our room was so large and comfy that we mostly stayed in there. Honestly I have nothing but great things to say about our whole experience at Agnes's home. We would ABSOLUTELY return for a future stay. Hopefully we can do just that. Many thanks, Agnes!

Great location in the heart of Old Lyon. Public parking is nearby, and the flat is easy to find. It is accessed via a medieval spiral staircase, and there are a lot of stairs. If stairs are a problem for you, you'll want to choose a different place. The main room is spacious and well-appointed, with a delightful mix of original walls and beams, yet all mod cons. I loved that there were maps and brochures for the top tourist sites and restaurants, and a binder from the host chock full of useful information about Lyon. Note that the loft space where the bed is located is quite small and has a low ceiling. It's cozy and comfortable but takes getting used to. Host Laurent was soooo responsive and generous! We were met in person and given keys. There was also a lock box and door codes. Laurent checked in with us throughout the visit to make sure all was well. You'll be hard-pressed to find a more congenial host.

We stayed for 6 nights, and totally LOVE and ADORE the apt. It was one of the typical old houses: High ceilings, stone walls, and wooden structured ceilings. Big windows- when open the breeze just in. Kitchen and coffee machine. We both worked extensively during the stay. So morning coffee machine is divine- we also bought the capsules to refill. The fully-equipped kitchen is good for making simple salads and enjoying wine during the evenings. The neighborhood is interesting- very very quiet after 10 pm, amazing. The apt is well designed- I like everything. If your height is above 6' then maybe the bathroom and climbing up might be a problem, but for us, it was perfect. Specially it's nice to separate the sleeping space from where we work. The sofa is amazing (the very last night I just fell asleep there so soft) The apt is spacious, clean, full of light, and also not hot- just open the window and the breeze will cool the entire room. The cats across the streets are so cute- every day they come out on the window observe you and pretend not to. The uphill road to the apt could be challenging to people with huge luggage as taxis could not reach there The neighborhood is cute- the tour to explore the "traboule" starts one minute away. Something reminds of us of Italy- the breeze, the house, the chat around the corner, the color of the house, the cat. The host is also wonderful: she brought us chocolate and is super nice and patient answering our questions about the trash category, etc.
